Thread regarding Broadcom Corp. layoffs

I'm so excited to join Broadcom

Wow, I'm so excited to join the great Broadcom family via the acquisition of CA I can't get enough of that stuff...

What I really love is:

  • the great and new managers having a span of control of up to 50 people and more - it's confirmed, you're just a number now

  • the skills and understanding and thought leadership the new managers demonstrate - I never in my entire career had manager of that kind absolutely not having a clue what it's company is doing or what the job of it's team is. they are just excel nerds far away from reality and customer

  • the great new benefits - there aren't benefits anymore

  • the new offices - called home office (ok, not to bad for some), as most of the CA locations and offices are or will be shut down

  • great and wise decisions from upper management - one day they break things, next they they ask me for fixing their mistakes, wow... great leadership style

  • the new mobility policy - which is taking away car allowance/company car although part of contracts and not being a benefit and taking all the cost of visiting customers (in case of car travel) on your own except a little money for claiming business milage

  • security software on the laptops - great, now I don't have to worry about my security anymore as IT guys have full access to all stuff on my laptop even cam and mic.

  • the great team - oooppsss...there is almost nobody left im by team/area... if not laid of almost everyone is on the way out...

  • great new IC plan - I don't need the money I'm totally fine with not getting any variable pay below 70% threshold, that's really fair and also the payback policy is a great thing. How stupid is that

  • new travel policy - I do understand that me in a customer facing (sales) role need VP approval for each flight I'm taking... what a joke.

  • the new PLA licensing - my customers will love it... they will run away...

  • the new product strategy - which is to "maintain" but not innovate and even worse "simplify" products to make maintenance cost of them cheaper. and continuous divest. customers will love that...

  • our new great product adoption strategy - we almost don't have anyone anymore to adopt and implement our products

  • support improvements - which is basically have cut support of almost all products by 50%

  • the new RSU concept - oh man, they are golden hand cuffs but money is not everything I tell you. In CA there were RSUs as well. maybe not that much but they were more seen and handled like a bonus for really good people to make them stay and compensate for the effort going the extra mile and overachieving and really being a role model. So if you we grated them you thought "great, they beliefe in me, i get rewarded, i keep on doing my best, i continue although it's hard sometimes...." Now: every fool is getting them as golden hand cuffs.

  • and all the breaches of contracts and work law - I'm so excited about this. Layers won't run out of work in the next weeks/months. they are breaking local law and even don't recognize it. how dumb is that.

  • the list goes on and on...

Wow I'm so excited to be a member of this insanity ... Good luck to the people who will or have to stay... I'm preparing to leave. Good luck.

I am someone that was offered a position and stayed. What you say is childish and filled with lies. Yes, Hock's operational efficiency took precedent over Mike's shiny new toys in many cases. Strong products that can hold their own in the market are being well funded. Flattening the org (less managers per worker) is a good thing. We are all being held more accountable and there will be less babysitting. Clearly you are not professionally mature enough for this company so dont let the door hit you in the a-- on the way out. Based on how needy you are from your rant, it sounds like sales is not your strength anyway. Also, we have benefits that actually seem better than CA's.

Too bad Octane didn't provide CA losers with extra lube when he acquired this company.

Get over it. HockeyT bought one thing and one thing only -- and it's the thing that Gregoire and Ashok couldn't kill ... the mainframe business. The rest of the sh-- was worthless making the teams on it just as expendable. j--koff Lame and his crew of id--t acquirers threw away billions to get nada...well, not nada, they traded your livelihood for a nice golden parachute...

Broadcom break local Country laws, break employment contracts and do not answer attempts to communicate with them. EMEA isn't NA.

I guess Jerry McGuire is Hock Tan's favourite film ... "Show me the money!"

Buy something, rip it to pieces and throw away the parts you don't want, while changing the bits you do want, regardless of the many Country laws being broken along the way.

Good luck running a software business the way you run a hardware business ...

Its a ruthlessly efficient operation that generates massive profites for share holders and employees. Benefits and travel are overrated. Sales guys always spend money like its some one elses and are being reigned in.

You would struggle to find many Broadcom employees that dont appreciate what we have.
