@W3Bx7M3-4was ironically CSC had an employment agency business.... one of the first things Mikey sold off...
Mike's comments about hiring contractors directly is very interesting, especially in the UK. Working through an agency used to protect you from HMRC declaring that you were an employee, IR35 has got rid of that fallacy. Take that away and you have to ask what he agency are doing for their 20-30% margin.
DXC is big enough to setup a "talent cloud" to which contractors could register and then capability managers could recruit directly. If DXC were really entreprenurial they would then open that brokerage to other consumers of IT skills and take a margin, heck if they can make it work they could rake in more profit in the long term than traditional ITO.
Thank you for posting this here.
I strongly recommend all current employees to watch the investor day webcast. It can be accessed from the Investor Relations page of the dxc.technology website. For "login" just give any email address... it doesn't have to exist and there is no registration process.
If you don't have time to watch it all (2 hours 40 minutes), skip to the Samson David discussing margin improvement and then to Mike Lawries's Q&A at the end. If possible, watch Saleh"s presentation too.
It is a brutally frank discussion of where the leadership team see the future of DXC. If you are employed by DXC, you need to see this.
In answer to an earlier question... at 1:55 in the video Mikey says 10-15% of labour will be "gig economy" - ie people hired to work for DXC on a T&M basis. Not FTE's, not traditional contractor labour via an agency.... in other words, absolutely the cheapest least secure employment possible.
Use a dummy email. That’s what I did. There is no check.
The video cannot be accessed without signing in. It would have been great if it was a link to you-tube or something
