Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Anybody else hoping for Chapter 7?

Just to finally have this whole circus done with. People will find new employment. Jobs like the ones at Sears are currently available aplenty. I'm just so tired of Eddie and his theatrics in hopes of milking this company for every single last cent. Just so tired of it all. So bring it on, I say.

I am hoping that Sears can avoid chapter 7 until spring of 2019... losing your job or health insurance during the holidays is brutal. But after reading on this site and other media outlets about Sears, that hope seems to be very optimistic. We are just burning up too much cash every month and we are not a compelling place to shop and haven't been for years. I did visit the Wood field mall Sears last weekend and actually the store looked decent, they had a nice selection of trees and decorations, the hardware and power tool section looked good, apparel and Land's end section looked OK. The toy section was just OK (but more than they usually had in the past). There seemed to be more shoppers than I have seen in the past, maybe due to the "50 dollars in points" sale going on. It will be sad when the Wood field Sears closes, it was one of the the original anchor stores when the mall opened in 1971. One of the other original anchors, Marshall field's, changed to Macy's maybe 10 or more years ago.

Will there be any layoffs sooner cause with so much going on and sears claiming its business as usual, people are going bit crazy. Office politics seems to be at all time high. I just want this to get over. I'm frustrated beyond a point with all the blame games. This atmosphere is bringing out the worst in everyone.

Even with no official liquidation, they've been closing stores at such a pace the last few years that they were on track to have no stores left by Q3 2019. https://mobile.twitter.com/mitchnolen/status/1052261262116106241/photo/1

I am ready to see it go, it's been over for a long, long time. Well before Eddie ever took over.

Closing hundreds of stores and emerging from bankruptcy only to close a hundred more stores every year would just prolong the suffering. It's time to say goodbye to a once-great company and move on to new adventures.

I'm surprised my local Sears is open. I go there all the time, just 1.or 2 cashier that never know what they're doing. Also the apparel department is just sad maybe 8 racks all together for infant and toddlers. Always out of 6m and 12m.

You wouldn't recall as much about it anyway, that was nearly 20 years ago. Most recent experiences are always going to be more vivid. And there were much fewer places for people to communicate about it online back then.

Why don't YOU move your arrogant behind on to some other website if you're tired of seeing people talk about Sears.

Chapter 7, 11,13, 5,4,3,2,1... who cares anymore?

I don't recall this much hand wringing and tears when Montgomery Ward went out of business...

Sears is dead... time to move on
