University of Phoenix teachouts in Jersey City and Philadelphia

Can anyone tell me the status of University of Phoenix in Jersey City, New Jersey? How about the campus in Philadelphia? I know they received teachout notices more than a year ago. How many students are left? How do students feel about having to shift to all online? Is the campus staffing just a skeleton crew?

@VImZSKW-1dkw, and you feel good working for a predatory company, one that targets vets and people of color?

"...savage inequalities in the K-12 system". Written like a good socialist. Keep going that route, Camden.

I grew up in a broken household with annual income below the lowest 10%. Went to a public high school that had almost no resources. What I did have was self-discipline and drive. I studied diligently, so I could get admission to a decent program in a public university (no basket weaving kind of program). A significant fraction of my high school classmates did the same.

Stop looking for ways to blame the system. The system owes you the opportunity of getting a high school education. You owe it to yourself not wasting your time and not making poor decisions early in life. If you decry the "savage inequalities" the system provides, then don't complaint when the system offers you UOP-like paths.

@VImZSKW-1vmy, you are correct. One caveat though. It's much tougher for those who have faced "savage inequalities" in the K-12 system. They must work even harder. In some cases, they would be better waiting than going to college unprepared or going to a subprime school.

If you care about justice overall, you can advise folks not to waste time during their high school years. The road to hard times starts with a poor basic education at the high school level. Another piece of advice is to postpone having children until you can effectively support them. See? The average taxpayer also deserves the justice of not having to fork money for individuals that lack the skills to be responsible for their own lives. I'm all for safety nets and supporting those that can't support themselves. I'm not for giving money to people who make poor choices.

"Who spends 7 years ranting on a blog about a company he doesn't work for?" Maybe someone who cares about justice for working people?

Uop isn’t big anymore. They can close up shop. Uop is all they have left after getting rid of WIU and Axia.

I doubt UOPX is too big to fail anymore.

@VImZSKW-arw - you are right, he is a creepy dude for sure. Who spends 7 years ranting on a blog about a company he doesn't work for? Psychological problems for sure.

@VImZSKW-arw, how is it sick and demented to want to know this information? What's your problem with transparency and accountability? What are you doing for social justice? Over the years, I have had some great conversations with several people from University of Phoenix. These were people who were willing to talk (always at some personal risk) about the corruption. If Apollo Group and UoPX management had LISTENED to these people, instead of pushing them out, we'd be in a different place right now. University of Phoenix is still "too big to fail" but if things don't change, UoPX will have to go through a major transformation.
