Anyone watched the all employee yesterday? What do you think?
My take:
-
I am unable to recall a single idea, thought, sentence...1 hour of no content
-
many questions (all?) went just unanswered. Some of them were pretty direct (what will you do short term? long term? what needs to be fixed in GE?). I was impressed by his ability on that
-
no message of hope, no vision, no charisma. No call for action to fix the mess.
-
no mention of HOW we are going to get out of this mess, and WHAT the final destination is
-
I clearly felt he has no skin in the game. No passion. He did not come through as a commander in chief who wants to lead his soldiers to victory. He is in for the money only, which means he will do nothing to make GE a healthier business and a place people would love to work in. I fear his goal is just to maximise his cash out in the shortest timeframe, to please Trian, the investors, and his pocket. And this just to bring to stock value to where it was when JF took over.
So sad... how much I would love to hear this chap saying, and meaning it: yes, we are in a big mess, yes, but I will throw all of myself mind and soul into making this company a great place to work.
game over
