Still no sign from the management. Keep telling us it will announce the changes in next week or so.. I am in a small development team working on a product which generating revenue of a million an year... any chance to survive coming month or even coming year? Not sure if I should even think about my future at Broadcom...

I don't know much about mri.. where are the teams located for them??
MOI is at juncture.. probably it will be added to distributed portfolio as we see in AIOPS announcement.. core products that feed data will remain in MF side.. rest of the analytics and ML part will simply go into distributed side and merge with DOI over period.. I don't think it will exist after an year or so and gets merged with DOI completely
@VHiZGaE-1xva sounds like moi or mri curious about the future those two
DCD will see cuts in few locations like ITC.. expected to be moved to one single location probably PTC.. ITC folks may go on transition assignment to transfer the limited knowledge what they have..
What would happen with DCD in MF data protection?
What's up with UIM?
enterprise security tower is PS, IDM, DIR, SSO, AA, PAM/PIM, API and bunch of smaller ones. OP are you talking MF security or enterprise? I can see a few of these going but many still make good money.
I am on a newer mainframe product
that has teams in ITC, PTC and Plano I
dont know how it is selling
If you can give me the product name, I can tell you whether it will be continued or not. There are products in MF BU that no longer continue in MF BU post acquisition. They are evaluating products and kicking off some products from MF that are not really MF products.
@VHiZGaE-jbq If you have profit margins of 20-30%, then you might be safe. Why? The ratio of SG n A vs R&D is 3:1 from CA's quarterly report. Broadcom's SG n A vs R&D is 1:4.X. Now, the industry is different though, but I am sure Hock will ask the question why SG n A is so much higher in CA.
@VHiZGaE-qur If it is going to ramp up in the future, you are save. No product goes from 0-60 in 1 day.
I'd be surprised if my product isn't losing money to be honest...
That makes me terrified. I am on a newer mainframe product that has teams in ITC, PTC and Plano I dont know how it is selling but cant imagine it has high margins now still too early.
CA closed in the past products with 3 Mil revenue , telling us that product just too small, so Broadcom will not hesitate to close 1 mil product
Don't feel bad about management's silence. If they were saying anything it would just be lies anyway.
@VHiZGaE-ppp - there are a lot of products like that in CAs portfolio. I worked on a Saas product with ~1 million in revenue. The budgeted team consisted of:
1 full time engineer in operations
1 part time manager, 5 full time developers - all in a cheaper overseas location.
I think profit margins were in the order of 20-30%, maybe higher.
You will probably be a transition or best bet divestment. Broadcom wants market leading products, strong revenue with high margin. Average team likely costs company a million factoring all costs. If the product stubbles has only 500k revenue now your team is dragging down the bottom line. CA would see your product as an investment in future growth. It’s unfortunate, but Broadcom is going cut anything that could remotely cost money
a team of people with revenue of 1 mil. That math is hard to work with, unless there are more to the story.
