How many is 'several' ? ...and in which groups?

Many @Westford were riding the wave and resting on their laurels for way too long. In fact that trend is true for all of Juniper.

Everyone is a 'Director' at Juniper. There is a 'Director' in facilities who is responsible to keep the toilets clean. There is a 'Director' in marketing who picks tools. There is a 'Director' in HR who monitors the fitness center. Directors galore! They make massive salaries too. The IOP cleaned out 43 VPs. It is time to have another IOP and clean out some of these useless 'Directors'. Not Engineers. Not people that do real work. Lets clean out the bogus middle tier of wasteful Directors.

@VHgc8uj-8gtu That's why they got laid off. Because they were good. Juniper prefers to promote, keep inexperienced, lazy, dishonest, bullying types as Directors/Sr. Managers/Managers - people who have no where else to go so that they can stay at Juniper, politicise the environment and run the mafia for the VP's. Just come and work in EMEA and you will know what I mean.

To be honest, there are some good directors at Juniper. My director and manager both got laid off last month during the PS reorg. A big loss for Juniper!

Big one comming next . AA will the cut the fat from Routing team , BK to clean up the failed contrail/integration teams. Q3 is bad for Juniper and Q4 projection ain’t no rosy either . Watch out when knives fall later this year.

ML was once RR"s boss when they were both in PLM function. ML left many years ago to head a startup that Jnpr bought couple of years ago and so ML is back in Jnpr fold. Its all one big happy family.

@VHgc8uj-1abw: What is GSBT, ML, PP? ML, I think is Machine Learning but not sure if this is valid in the above context.

Yes. It’s GSBT getting entirely dismantled. GSBT was a huge failure. It’s taken 9 months to whittle the remnants of it down. And will be a few more months I would guess. A lot of good people in there so you can’t easily fire them all at once. Remember, still fallout from ML arrival. A few will get hit from PP but You’d think PP’s org would grow a little net to go after Ent.

Lots of theories but zero real communication about why. Whatever the reason it s---s and is killing morale. It’s not like it’s a big secret...everyone knows it’s happening.

Optical folks from BTI were in Canada. BTI folks in Westford were just resources who got assigned to do Junos work. Considering that there is not too much going on in Westford, it was just a matter of time before those folks got hit.

As an ex-WFD employee, it was clear to me that there are way too many managers/directors who are plain incompetent and just fool around. I hope it is these worthless folks who got canned instead of ICs who do the actual work.

Also, I have been hearing about layoffs for months now. Any idea why Juniper is laying off in batches as opposed to finishing it off in 1 day?

Several people in the field sales/se roles around packet optical got let go (Former BTI people and people hired to sell optical). They were national overlays that weren't attached to a specific area.

Yes. It’s the Directors and above, particularly in these silly support roles that are not hard to perform or fill.

Juniper is a company where sht rises. There are technical directors too, P.Es and DEs, and all they do is B.S, politicize, plagiarize and waste everyone's time. You just need to know how to sk up to upstairs and become a director yourself. It's not very hard, just ask any of the people above you and they will lay out the process. And don't complain, or else the IOP will get you out before any director is shown out.
