Can anybody say what the offer is or will they be individualized?
What is the difference between an early retirement offer and a job elimination offer? I mean in terms of what the company offers you for each. Thanks.
@owu its not “old news” it was just announced dumb@ss. Early retirement offers for 60+, voluntary job eliminations if between 59 & 60. Offers coming this month. We all know what follows.
If the Union was worth anything and had a set of balls, then they would have been honest with us upfront and told us the ugly truth. But no, they chose to tell us a bunch of beautiful lies because at the same time they know most of the union members can't handle the truth. The truth is that way too much was over promised and unsustainable deals were made. All the resources are almost s---ed up and soon there will be nothing left for anybody. Only a delusional id--t would think this gravy train would last an entire career. I know we all like our higher than the normal average hourly pay wage, but ask yourself, Where is the money coming from to pay for it?? GE needs to sell your work for a little bit more at the least than what it cost them to pay you to work. We have coworkers that are paid up to $39 an hour and the work they do worth less than that. Do the MATH!! It doesn't matter how good you think you are at making your widget!! The widget isn't selling!! We're lucky we've gotten what we have so far, now it is time to pay for it! I think we will be giving back a lot during the next contract deal.
