Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Promotions @ DXC

These days a promotion just means more work and no pay increases. F--- that, leave me at my old job. Since there have been no pay increases for years I am taking the time off during the week to do personal things. My hours always show 40 otherwise I get a nasty email saying I have to have 40 hours.

Every other job I ever had, I got anywhere from 5% , 10% and even 15% increases every year, but DXC management is cheep and we get nothing. Oh we get professional classes, but not the time to take them. Other firms would give you a week off to take a 40 hour class, but DXC expects you do all your work, work of most of India guys that can't debug themselves out of a wet paper bag and take the course.

Promotions have been redefined to be WFRs. Anyone that fails to be promoted is deemed to be exploited even more.

I just got a promotion and a 30% raise, not bad I must say, still I'm getting the best of my off - time, gym, studying, doing personal stuff during "work" time and of course looking for job elsewhere.

My review has always been meets or mostly exceeds exceed expectations, so don't give any c-ap. My meets expectations is past most peoples exceeds because management expects more from me than most.

If ML and the NEO's can get pay raises, stock options , bonus for merit, then the rank and file should too.

In the US the a-- hole in Chief gave corporate America a huge tax break , so they could help the worker and we get not a penny.

"Perhaps your c-ap at your job which is why no pay rise.. you also sound like sort of person I would want out!.."...…. I have every sympathy with the guy who started this thread and whoever wrote this response is an arse. Myself and other colleagues have had the top performing grades in FPR this year and last. Pre DXC in HPE had the same. Had no rises or cash bonus in 5 years. Told this year by my American manager that its not even worth putting people in for a rise or bonus as the management chain above have said no one, globally , in our org will be getting anything. So f..k DXC and ML. Sound like the guy here is recovering time for the exploitation suffered. Have heard that people are now refusing to travel to meet clients where its impacting upon their own time. Time DXC doesn't pay you for or give you time off in lieu . Sounds to me like DXC is up sh.t creek without a paddle.

Corporate loyalty has been dead a long time.

Senior Mgmt know that if you leave they can easily replace you with someone cheaper who wants the job. The personalisation and human factor was removed when they centralised HR into the corporate, faceless mess it is today.

In such toxic atmospheres, the first to go are not the ones Senior Mgmt want to see leave. They are usually the high-performers. I appreciate DXC don't owe people careers and that some change is good for your career, to keep it fresh and take on new opportunities; but, DXC can't seem to retain even the new people now. They love the work experience but hate the low-morale atmosphere.

Senoir mgmt believe that toxicity will take a few more years to dissipate, as if the culture will restore itself like someone shaking off a virus, but I think the culture is irrevocably damaged.

The culture is damaged. Does DXC promote team working (does Mike strike you as a team player)? Does it support trust andopeneness (again if the top leader doesn't demonstrate this, then the company culture won't) and is there constructive problem solving?

Even staff with a positive can-do attitude and show corporate loyalty are fired. The message this sends out is that there is no point to going the extra mile. [I can't condoln not doing at least what you're paid for, but I can understand the frustration].

There is no trust of the management layers. You don't judge a company on powerpoints, blogs, videos and forced social media issues; you judge them on what they actually do and how they treat their customers and staff. I've seen some hilarious attempts to get managers to go out and improve moral as if its a leaky pipe that just needs patching.

For now, DXC seem happy to continue to lose staff at a rate of knots and appear happy to incur the costs associated with high staff turnover, recruiting, productivity loss, learning curves (with no formal training); increased errors and a loss of client confidence, as a result.

I am afraid it is a downward spiral.

Promotion in today’s corporate America often means more work for the same pay, and no longer have the same allure they once did. The one advantage a promotion without pay raise can bring though is negotiating power, and if you can get an offer for more pay from another company, you can often times use that to get a raise.

We live in times where corporate loyalty is dead (unless you’re in upper management) and our culture doesn’t work to gain increases for workers. Expect pay cuts in the future along with being asked to do more work.

You all have your opinions which is find , beach of contract. Now that is funny. If I had a contract I wound not be worries because I would have a buy out package but I work in a right to hire , right to fire county so I am f---ed.

If ML and his honchos can get Super Big merit raises and bouns then the common employee should get merit raises. I am busy and have more work than time to do it.

The so called engineering team that creates the guide for me to follow don’t know 1/2 of what I know about the product and how to automate it.

I am sick of all the rah rah about the company that treats the workers like sh--. I’d leave if I could find a job but even with this so called low unemployment in the US there are only contract jobs, so for now I’ll stay and b--ch.

In the US the a-- hole in Chief gave corporate America a faint tax break , so they could help the worker and we get not a penny.

You clearly have spare time to do personal things.. and book 40 hours which is unethical anfmd date I say effectively stealing.

Therefore you are clearly a free loader and the kind of person who should be first to let go if redundancies.

You complain about promotion being more work.. you clearly have spare capacity.

Can you show some bravado and say which country and division?

To think. people let go and some good people.. you still on payroll does show compulsory releases failing as you still work at DXC.

Is your name Lawrie?

You seem to have your justification... but it seems unethical to me. Moreover, it may be breach of contract... some may even call it stealing.

The fact that DXC is treating us as they do, dies not mean we should become worse human beings. I choose to move on and out of DXC.
