Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

She Works Hard For The Money

So hard for ya honey, she works hard for the Staples but they refuse to treat her right. She works day and night working through bad contracts ***watching her salary and commission go away, she realizes now that their going to take her territory away. Morale is low full of faces with frowns, you think it might be a sad clown circus show. She works hard for the money, so hard for the Staples, it’s the end of the month and they figured out it’s another month of no commission sales pay.

Retribution?

It's easier to just seek employment elsewhere. There are better paying jobs out there that requires less work. I'm sure Staples/Sycamore knows that, and this is yet another play on their end to get high paid folks to quit on their own for better pasture.

What exactly do Regional Manager, Directors and RVP's do to grow sales other than to look at a mass of data that isn't input correctly to begin with.

This is an example of how Sycamore Staples Management responds to unrealistic goals that they set -

"go away miserable person, it’s not staples fault that you didn’t get a commission check. you’re in control of your own destiny"

They are not interested in fair pay or being ethical with their workforce. It is so easy for them to set so called "goals" that not even the best in sales can achieve.

This is exactly how they purge sales people and give the appearance of lack of performance to justify terminating positions in this company.

Staples / Sycamore does not want outside sales people and wants to go to a telemarketing future only.

It is really easy to find folks that will except 30K per year to sit in an office and process orders.

This is the new reality that the Amazon culture brings.

Outside Sales, Regional Managers, Directors and RVPs will ALL be eliminated.

There is no room in the new culture.

You’re going to lose your territory because you don’t close business. Sounds like a personal problem, not a Staples problem.
