This is OP. If you have an established family in a region for a long time, you'll know why. I don't believe any company in the SD region would pay me as much as Q does right now. If you want a raise, you have to move. That is the reason why. BTW, my position is secured for at least a few more years.

Hey OP, Why do you stay at QCOM? Sounds like you weren't laid-off, but now you're all butt-hurt because you didn't get a retention bonus? This is not a "BS answer" by the way.

I've known people like you. They stay in a bad situation with a company and complain incessantly about the place, BUT THEY DON'T LOOK FOR A NEW JOB!

Unless you're old & almost ready for retirement, or need your job to get a green card (you're here on an H-1B), then there's no reason to stay.

So OP, just answer one question (no BS)- Are you actively looking for a new company? If not, why?

I expect the usual reaction, people feel personally attacked by my statements and reply with attacks.

But if you're one of those people just sitting on your azz while the work environment continues to deteriorate around you, have you asked yourself why you're not looking for a new job?
