Thread regarding Dream Center Education Holdings, LLC (DCEH) layoffs

Any bets?

How many currently enrolled students at the remaining campuses will withdraw when they're told that they have to take all of their gen ed classes online? Comparing the adoption of online education to the adoption of an autonomous vehicles is a joke. Students choose an on-campus program specifically because they don't want to do on-line classes. But that's too obvious for DCEH to grasp. I'm guessing enrollment drops by at least 25%.

Online education and be excellent & condusive to help those with a tough schedule but truly are dedicated to getting their degree. However, what you may not understand that there are governmental guidlines for federal loans & persistance rates along with securing job in that career sector. Should you decide to continue online there I hope you are rich or have Cash plus qualify for personal loans. If not pursue your online degree at a college witha graduation rate that is solid.

Yo 2vty, no correlation between learning and graduation rates. Lots of students do not graduate because of financial aid issues, lack of enthusiasm for the degree, their back itches, who knows? But teaching and learning can be done online, even for design (there is no art at Ai, all degrees are design based).

Accept online as a viable education option or go extinct.

All General Education classes going online was announced to our campus on Wednesday. They have very enthusiastic talking points. I am at AI and I know our students will not do well with these. My opinion is that it's all about fhe money. They have issues trying to figure out how to handle the military students. They also announced some core classes could also be forced online due to low enrollment. Ships going down like the titanic.

@1hsu

No hatred here whatsoever:

*AiO grad rate 9%

*SUO grad rate 3%

*AUO grad rate 6%

Looks like someone might have escaped from Sunnybrook farm.

Don’t be such a hater @UrEQvyR-1hsu, Just because you have a negative opinion of online education doesn’t mean it doesn’t work. Make sure to get your resume in and maybe you can work online too.

If you can’t see the whole cookie is crumbling then you deserve the stale aftertaste when you lose your job at the now open but almost sure to soon close AI locations.

Online is a Joke. Have some decency to tell students to do not take classes online. I hope all the students drop out and Hell Center/Ai/EDMC close down and burn into ashes in hell

I don't want to see dceh crumble -- agreed with @UrEQvyR-1iph

problem is the current online admin will hear no one but themselves - if dceh were to listen to faculty -- it would be bye bye online admin -- wishful thinking

DCEH only listens to DCEH and the sound of money. You are kidding yourself if you think they care about faculty or academic integrity or strong programs.

Online is waaaay cheaper to operate. If the DCEH mission is "One University", then the only way to have one true university is for the school to be online.

I would like to see DCEH listen to their faculty. I don't want to see the whole thing crumble - there are still good programs with good faculty and students at the remaining schools and they'd all be hurt by crumbling. The faculty have good ideas about how to turn things around but the people running DCEH are too blinded by their own arrogance and ignorance to pay attention to what the faculty are saying.

I always assumed they would put Gen.. Ed. classes online at Ai but we haven’t heard anything yet. Are we being notified soon? Is it immediate?
