This is in regards to admissions at South

Ada's have ZERO say in the admissions process. All we do is recruit students and help them through the process. Academics and the registrar are the ones who Accept your students 100% of the time
-
Ada's are extremely hard working. You have no idea the things they have to put up with and the pressure they have to endure from start to start. 100 calls just for one solid application!
-
Every single call is recorded in the admissions department and we get shopper calls daily! There is not a single Ada who would lie or even stretch the truth to get an enrollment. Maybe you're thinking back a few years, not in 2018!
Well said @5wcq and @3vkn
The admissions department at all three brands accept anyone with a pulse, and then dump the students on academics for retention, admissions reps would shine in the used car field. I will NEVER work for cracker jack schools again, only traditional and respected universities.
That is BS!!! The admission team at my campus is lazy and watch youtube all day. My department bust it's a-- not only for our campus but for those that are closing....#deuces I'm out
Anyone who says admissions doesn't deserve a raise hasn't done the job. It's hellish. And anyone who thinks academics have anything to do with admitting students Is new, I'm imagining, and still believes what is written In the catalog and employee handbook. Please stop saying "all we do is take applications" by the way. Who do you think you are kidding? And for the others who cash a paycheck and point their fingers at admissions claiming they're the enethical ones, what BS! You know what the score is and every time you cash a paycheck your part of it. Sorry. You know who you work for and how they get their money.
Students can only be accepted to a school if they meet the requirements as outlined in the academic catalogue. For many programs there is a catalogue requirement that they be reviewed by facult or departments chairs. Admissions cannot refuse application to a student that wishes to apply as this could be viewed as discrimination. If you want better students changed the admissions requirements or Chairs could get out of their offices, build their programs and help attract better students.
I don’t know what campus you’re at but at my campus where I’ve worked for over 8 years, it is a group of academics that review the prospective students and give admissions notice if the student has been accepted or not.
Submit to a team of academics? Not here. I’ve been full time in my department for six years and not once have I ever been asked about the incoming students. I’ve listened to admissions tell the students that even the wildest dreams are likely while taking classes during lunch hours without any knowledge of the job market. Once those students make it to our classrooms, we make every effort to be as honest as we can about the reality of this program. Some are successful but it takes an incredible amount of work and dedication that few are willing to put in. Many cannot pass the class the first time and spend thousands repeating courses due to lack of attendance and refusal to do the work and yet think he or she will still be able to get a job after graduation.
No matter how many times we plead with the higher ups, these students make it into the classroom. The students putting every effort in get shorted and either leave or we spend extra time with them making sure they get what they have paid for, unpaid. I’m so proud of the students that do the work and move on to great things but the school does nothing to lessen the amount of students that do not belong.
Don’t blame it on us.
“The academics team decide if the student is accepted or not. Get your facts in line!”
Bwahahahahahaha
The academics team is led by ADs.The dean admits who they are told to by admissions directors.
Students with under a 1.0 gpa are admitted, it is a sales scam.
ada's and financial advisors - probably work together - vomit
https://www.cnbc.com/2018/06/22/thousands-of-students-who-say-they-were-defrauded-by-the-art-institute-awaiting-an-answer-from-the-government--.html
it isn't either group that deserves raises -- education shouldn't involve sales gimmicks - knowing you all got raises just goes to show dceh is just edmc with anew name - it's all bs
2hmh that's bogus - in a few departments maybe - in most not true at all.
Rearranging the deck chairs in n the Titanic. I “gets” it
@ anonymous 2hwk
You sound like an ignorant id--t talking about something you don’t know about. Yes, ADAs bring prospective students in but they are not allowed or have a say if they are accepted to start classes. They collect the docs and submit them to a team of academics to review. The academics team decide if the student is accepted or not. Get your facts in line!
"It’s not up to the ADAs what students come to Ai. It’s academics that decide yay or nay. Gets your facts in line people."
ADAs are the one signing them up!
Signing up people that have no business being there; unethical and criminal!
Admissions do not deserve a raise AT ALL; unethical people.
Yes like quotas because we have them and some people have been able to bounce around and avoid accountability for years. Why should they get rewarded?
It’s not up to the ADAs what students come to Ai. It’s academics that decide yay or nay. Gets your facts in line people.
“Those that hit their metrics should get more period.” Oh, you mean lime quotas and commission, nice. Nothing but sales gimmicks. It’s not a school it’s just a sales scheme to collect title vi funds from undereducated customers who are hoping for a better life but end up in minimum wage jobs instead of professional careers and are indebted to creditors until their deathbed.
Yep, you all deserve a raise.
LOL @ discrimination and should be paid the same. Those hat hit their metrics should get more period. Yet that’s not how this rolled out. People that haven’t hit their goals in years now make he same as those that have always achieved their goals. Totally unfair.
The raises are nice but the increased responsibility and added work make it not worth it. This organization needs to understand that human beings work there not machines. It would be nice to see this company being operated by people who care about the employees and students.
What's so hard about the AC and FC positions? Do you even need a degree for those jobs? They are probably overpaid for the little work they do. Have you ever tried calling them?
Over paid and under worked if you ask me.
The ADAs are the biggest criminals. They will say anything to bring students into the school. I saw so many students that did not belong in college but the ADAs were meeting their quotas. Anyone with any morals would not be in that job
What is worse is AUO/SUO had a “special” nothing burger meeting for AC’s/FC’s who are are busting their butts consisisting of:
1) CRM Update (Name - Where’s My Stipend)
2) No Raises Yet .................... (If ever)
3) KPI updates coming soon.
Back to work lemmings!!!
Wow. You have faculty with advanced degrees making 55. All about the students-except the people who actually teach these students, work with them and try to educated them don’t see raises for years.
Discrimination -- all those doing the same job should be paid the same
At least some existing employees are getting an increase. Previously it has been only new employees especially highly paid DCEH Phoenix getting paid market value.
Yep. My friend said they got moved into the 50-55k range and will get another 5-10k when they hit their next year. Here I am busy all day and not making anywhere close to that.
