I would love a big fat layoff bonus. 18 years with the company and now I'll get an unemployment check. Got to love it!
Phul-ease. This company has student workers manning the Registrar and SFS offices, for god's sakes.
I would be shocked if there were any raises. There are people that have been working there for 5-6 years and have not received a raise! The best thing that can happen is the people walk in to work tomorrow and the doors are chained shut for all of the offices.
They've been talking about raises for over a year now. Sounds like some teams got them and some did not. Maybe it depends on what department you are under or if the new management cares enough about your position.
They let the overtime train go off the rails in past years... Instead of putting restrictions on who was eligible to work overtime and how many hours, they are now just taking it away from everyone because they spent way too much money on it in the past. The tradition continues of punishing all instead of dealing with those that should actually be reprimanded.
