If you work in an employment-at-will state, you aren't owed anything by your employer. Get over yourself, entitled ones. The gig is almost over so get up and get another job instead of whining about severance or the lack thereof. Jobs are plentiful so put on your happy face and go find another one.

I know what you mean but I was attempting to jocularly post from the viewpoint of a former so called graduate student with a 3.9 cum who had perfect attendance and participated in every class discussion, respected my teachers, turned in all projects on time and was very close to graduation before being f---ed and left by the wayside with no one coming forward to advocate for me, I believe, for fear of losing their job.
I won't get into the details but despite having two other degrees from reputable schools and as an older person I had no idea that higher ed had degraded to the point where this kind of boiler room come-on could exist in a country where I will always believe or used to believe that the education of young or old, black or white was sacrosanct and not to ever be subjected to the whims of those who claim to love Jesus, the unquenchable greed of the market place, or the indifference of the money changers on Wall Street.
So I do have empathy for those employees who have lost their jobs through the treachery of the
" leaders" who saw a group academicians that, for one reason or another, stayed at the party way too long.
You work at a crappy company that takes advantage of students that are poor and desperate- you think you are owed something. Just forget the last two years of your life existed and try to find a job at a company that isn't a joke

Most people under 40, at least in the US, were raised their entire life with a false sense of entitlement. So they bring this baggage with them into the workforce.
They were taught that we are all equal (we are not), that effort equates to success (it does not), that all players win (they do not), and that everyone else should pay special attention to them (we do not).

What's the point of all this bickering? The mom's basement jazz is useless. The troll accusations are hypocritical. Most people post on this site beacuse they have been aggrieved and it has become the only antidote for the DC/EDMC poison.

I worked at an AI for 16 years. I kept waiting for a layoff, but if you are in a limited position they just keep heaping the work and stress on you. Leaving was a great decision. People do deserve severance if they stick it out. DCEH is the lowest of the low. If you are at a campus that is still alive, I would be embarrassed to say where I worked. This poster is obviously getting paid by them to make such a rude remark. These are trained professionals and deserve more respect
