Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Truth behind the Transformation

We are transforming.

We will be the new Amazon. 90% of retail locations are going away except for hometown.

Starting in September the Hometown stores will be allowed to buy existing company stores or get territorial rights to major cities.

This is the reason we are finally carrying high end electronics (Apple, Sony, etc)

The transformation will complete in Q2 of 2019. You heard it here first.

SHO stores are NOTHING like an Ace Store. Ace stores work off of a pretty nice margin. SHO owners are kept poor. SHO owners create sales for the leadership to draw big salasires and SHO stores are closing at a pretty good rate and owners are walking. SHO is not competitive and are up against .com pricing and free delivery . Time will tell

@U41XvqN-1ebl you must be a special kind of stupid to think most sears stores being closed aren’t profitable - they’re real estate plays pure and simple.

SHOS stores do quite well actually. Ever been to an Ace hardware? How about a harbor freight? Both open at least one new store a week nationally and they kill.

SHOS stores do just as well.

Give real entrepreneurs a chance at a big store and watch the money roll in.

Owning a SHOS or an ace hardware is like having a license to print money.

sHOS and internet is the future.

You have to be a special kind of stupid small business owner to think opening your own Sears store would be a good investment.

Thank you

Is there a public statement on that?

Are the diehards performing well? Or just less bad?

All auto center either shut down or converted to die hard. Part of the Amazon deal with SHC. Might also be a way for Amazon to buy the Diehard name and the stores at BK. This would give Eddie even more money back at BK

Is it an estimate or a statement by shc that all auto centers are converting to diehard?

SHOS ain't doing much better than SHLD, despite less news coverage. The SHOS stock price has been under $3 for over a year now, after falling from a high of $55 in 2013.

So who would want under performing store locations that were shut down because they drained the wallet of sears? Really think about that- Sears home town stores never had a chance. The people that bought in lost their money before they signed the paperwork.Once liquidation of assets is complete its over. I watching to see where they will get the money from when that money is due next july. Sears has only sales infrastructure, no shipping receiving, warehousing or delivery infrastructure. That is all farmed out.....yah just yah

@yfw I agree that partner with Amazon is the best thing to do right now. Sears holdings should just close all FLS or keep only very profitable stores. Close down sears.com and kmart.com particularly that shopyourway.com. They are money losing for many years now. All online sales should be a store within Amazon. Sears should concentrate on the delivery and the services and make that the top priority. It could save Sears from bankruptcy and may even prosper.

Forgot to add, Sears Hometown is proving to be a collosal failure, btw. It has dealt huge financial blows to tons of middle-class people who put their entire life savings into the franchise only for it to cost them more money than they will ever make. It's a surefire way to go bankrupt. Hometown stores are closing just as quickly as SHC FLS. Sure, a few will open here and there but most won't even make it to the second year. SHOS is an albatross and it's not even a part of SHC - so it couldn't possibly be part of the transformation. If anything, SHOS goes down with SHC.

Land's End won't have a chance to survive either if they don't get on the ball and get going with their own standalone stores.

Ha ha, what a knee slapper.

This transformation talk means nothing more than a systematic dismantling of the assets of this company: the real estate (stores, warehouses, office buildings, land) and the intellectual property (brands, trademarks, patents). After those two categories are fully liquidated (and we're pretty darned close), the "transformation" is complete. After that, Sears Holdings will have their online presence Eddie and Leena so desperately wanted but nothing will change. It will still be a pathetic attempt to compete with the big boys just like it is now and it will NEVER, ever, ever be a serious competitor with Amazon.com. Out of all the uncertainties in life this will hold true. It just won't happen. They've tried, they've even gave away the farm with the Shop Your Way program and people still didn't abandon Amazon (or anyone else for that matter) to shop with us.

Understand that Sears.com/Kmart.com and Shop Your Way, the last vestiges of Sears Holdings according to plan, will only exist if SHC doesn't file for bankruptcy before this "transformation" completes and is forced to liquidate by the bankruptcy court. Then some Chinese conglomerate buys the Sears.com and Kmart.com domain names for pennies on the dollar and goes on to peddle third-rate goods.

SHOS is burning cash, is awash in debt, and has no cash. Think the mom and pop franchise owner can buy and refurbish a 60,000 square foot sears store do you?

All Auto Centers are converting to Diehard stores.

The deal with Amazon is totally what saved them.

I can kinda believe this. Course even if it's true they will surely fail not too soon after they shut down the Sears/Kmarts stores.
