Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Had to do PIR sign offs on social media acknowlegement. Did anyone else have to do this today?

SM said rumors were circulating on "a" discussion board about layoffs (didn't mention the site by name). The wording said that it was a violation of company policy to communicate proprietary or confidential information, or information tgat could potentially harm or hinder the operations of the company, and that it would lead up to and including termination.

The higher ups are fully aware of this site and is trying to scare us away from posting on it. I think the tipping point may have been what transpired on here a day or two ago with the alleged leaked information regarding lead and AP layoffs. For what it's worth, those layoffs didn't seem to pan out. Maybe the leaker foiled it, maybe it was made up and totally false, maybe it was exaggerated, but whatever the case, it sounds like the bee's nest was poked.

I think it is best if you do NOT access this site at work on your personal device thru wifi OR on company devices. Wait until you are home or do what I do and go through your data on your phone on your break. They are probably going to go on witch hunts for leakers or even people who read this site without posting anything. It is so easy for IT people to sift through the logs and find out who has accessed a site, where they accessed it, when and for how long.

With that in mind, post here if you have had to sign an acknowlegement and/or if there was a discussion about "social media", this site, leaks, etc. with your manager. Corporate, post here if there was anything similar.

. People are getting fired anyway , and they know they are all eventually going to be fired . So threatening people with being fired is supposed to scare people when they already know the titanic is sinking? um......................ok

Definitely just use this site at home from now on.

"SM said rumors were circulating on "a" discussion board about layoffs"

LOL. Nice job making sure all the employees know about this site, Sears. If you search Google for sears layoffs, this forum is the top result, so I don't think that attempt at obfuscation will have much effect.

Definitely don't access this site on SHC equipment. You can wait until you get home or at least away from the store using your phone. I'm all for speaking freely but even I have a problem with posting information about a company while you are on the clock or using company resources to do so. It's bad form.

I honestly don't think anyone in DCEH is smart enough to research people going online at work. They can't even fix problems with how slow the system is. It's time we quit being afraid of the "upper management" and did the right thing. It is called "freedom of speech". Go on your own computer after work and speak your truth. It is time is all comes out
