Thread regarding Altice USA (Cablevision) layoffs

Other sites

Does anyone know of other sites similar to this one that I can vent on anonymously. I feel that this is more of a union site than anything. Just getting tired of this company and there impossible goals.

To HellNo I am not corporate, I am also a tech who is not happy with Altice. Just because I am looking for other places to vent does not mean I am a corporate troll. You are the reason I am looking elsewhere. Whenever a question comes up people automatically assume they are a corporate troll. Just someone that is concerned about there job.

Plenty educated on my pension. The statement was that they took it away. Yea, they stopped contributing but you still get 2% in interest. You could do better but You are no longer able to roll it over since we are now owned by AUSA.

There is NO contribution into any pension ats or altice USA. Any money made is through interest. To be honest with you on 20 k you could do much better investing yourself. Do not spread lies. You are not properly educated on the pension. The company contributes zero to your cash balance pension plan. They do contribute to 401k but not pension. Get your facts straight before you speak.

@TrdmsLq-1gad you are correct about the movement of the pension. Still don't understand why I cannot touch it when I am not an AUSA employee. My check comes from ATS and so does my W2. You are incorrect abut the 2%. Its an average of 2% a year still. Log in and look at your statement.

@TrdmsLq-1bza Lying about my pension? Strange, when i log in and look at it, this is what I get.

1/18 - 4/18 Current Year

Beginning Balance $20,412.42

Total Adjustments $190.10

• Interest Credits $190.10

• Pay Credits $0.00

Ending Balance $20,602.52

you get an average of 2%. Stop spreading your lies.

They stopped putting the 2% in your pension. Also you can no longer move it or take it out. They failed to inform us that we went back under AUSA in March. Don’t take my word. Ask your HR rep.

"Does anyone know of other sites similar to this one that I can vent on anonymously. I feel that this is more of a union site than anything. Just getting tired of this company and there impossible goals."

That comment is just another reason why we all need to be unionized.

🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

  • How can venting on a website secure your job?

  • Wouldn't it make more sense to actually take actions to make your employment situation better?

  • How many techs from Oakland or Lodi do you see complaining here on this site?

  • Hilber repeatedly told us that Brooklyn "hates" their contract.... if this were true, why haven't they decertified?

  • RCC dept why do you think that is?

  • What's there to stop Altice from further reducing our benefits?

  • What's there to stop Altice from changing our status to 1099?

  • haven't you noticed the uptick in contractors doing our work?

  • based on what you've seen already, do you really believe that Altice has our best interests?

everybody need to wake the fùck up and stop acting like a bunch of lost sheep.

took away my pension? strange, I still have mine and get 2% as an at will employee. 2% is better than nothing. They legally cannot take your money.

I wasn’t replying to you I was replying to the guy that was saying this was a union site which it is not by far you can complain comment all you want. It’s just these trolls trying to divide. we are employees who work for Altice that are In the union making these comments and facts we are not trying to entice you to join I’m not a recruiter I just know that union is a better fit than being At will working for Altice you can disagree all day but I’ve seen both sides. Easy and have a pleasant weekend.

Why are you reacting like this. I wasn’t trying to insult anyone. Just trying to find another place to go. I have not talked bad about the union. I was looking for another place where I can here better ideas than unionize, because quite frankly I believe we are all going to be screwed by this company regardless if it is a union shop or not.

Why you would want a union, Anyway you like it just the way it is. The company keeps you in suspense, waiting for the hammer to drop, you just sit back and complain, do nothing as they keep taking away what you have earned piece by piece. We fought for a pension now it’s gone, new hires no free cable except in union shops, now your a customer double your workload for the same pay. More Than half of the entire workforce is gone more than double your workload, but hey that’s what you wanted, not my problem my numbers are good.

I can speak for myself, when I have a issue I have a open door policy (yeah right) more of a do what I say policy, When they mess with my check then there’s a problem I think they already have and you still did nothing, looking forward to your vents hope that makes you feel better. I Am also glad to hear you at a layoff site complaining about guys advocating for Change, if you have a better idea say it. If you don’t then don't admonish it, have you been in a union? So how you know if it s---s to be in one, oh yeah because management told you. You have coworkers posting about how much better it is in a union shop but you think it’s union propaganda, it’s not perfect nothing never is but we secured our jobs and benefits, example RCC, Logistics, Still have their jobs we are hiring at this moment they have to keep the same manpower. We want this for you wouldnt you want a to be like it was before.

You had a chance but, you did exactly as management said and look where your at now at a website complaining about people who want to make your work situation better, Wow enjoy your weekend my dumb, uneducated, lazy union worker is out deuces.

Not the union site, take a look at other forums here, we are the only one talking about unions. My two cents, they are the loudest here currently, but not for long, I hope. I have nothing against unions, but there are other important subjects to discuss, and ending every subject with “unionaze” is considered trolling, and that’s against this sites policy. Hoping site admins will do something about it soon.

Glad to hear someone else thinks the same as I when it comes to this site. Clearly its a union paid for site therefore it can be quite one sided at times. Not all solutions are a union and a union doesnt prevent and wouldnt have prevented the things which have transpired over the past few years.

Still It is a good way to keep up to date on what is going on with this company. The communication is so poor you are just left figuring that they are hiding their plans. This causes the tension we all sense daily. It is a shame what has happened to a once proud and great place to work but we all need to face the fact that it will never come back to being a good place to work and never be a 1st class service provider to the subscribers. Sadly this the way it is and will continue to be. Its just a job not a career anymore
