Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

Adios Staples, Sycamore, CorpU, Skype Meetings, and Chest Pains

My 5 years in FS is coming to an end. My last day will be May 25! I can no longer put up with all the internal b---s---, drama, and unrealistic quotas. This job and company has gone down hill quickly in the past 2.5 years. Since I handed in my resignation, I’ve been so much happier. I no longer have stress and amazingly, I don’t hardly drink as much beer anymore.

My $7.2 million quota is a joke. My competitions top sales rep only manages $1.5 million and makes $150k...(WAY more than I make) and only has to sell one category. Life is too short and sweet to be miserable working in Corp America for Staples. I’ll be RAPIDLY ROTATING away into the sunset.

The original post never implied that the person couldn't handle the pressures of sales. The person was tired of the "internal BS, drama, and unrealistic quotas," and that he or she wasn't being paid for the work being put in.

I couldn't imagine anyone wanting to get paid "way less" than the average in the industry while doing more than average work. It's illogical to expect that from anyone.

I laugh at these posts because it is the weak ones that so quickly exit the door when asked to step-up their game.

Nothing can stop the sinking of this company. Employees are finally seeing the failure of which it is. Don’t wait for sycamore to call your number. The grass is much greener outside of this pos. Record jobs available and employers are many. Now is a great time to exit and save your sanity and health. FU sycamore!

Friend of mine quit this week too. He said it was very freeing because working for Staples is total cancer. I feel bad for that new head of HR they hired... Turning the mindset and environment that they created around will be impossible. Let's see how long she lasts.

It was doomed the day Correnti took the helm.... look at where he in now - Panera Bread!

The directors in this group are worthless. They are too busy ducking and hiding from Sycamore.

Their day will come - soon! When you create a culture where sales teams need to document their every move, you are doomed as a sales organization. From Salesforce - garbage in garbage out to senseless meetings, call day, weekly report cards and commission cutting EVERYONE should be looking at the door.

I hate my job and the ahole directors that work here. I am right behind you buddy.

Good for you! You are ahead of everyone else in that group for sure. Don't bother looking back.... unless you are into watching something completely fall apart.

I'm surprised they didn't walk you to the door when you resigned? This is normally what they do.
