Thread regarding DST Systems layoffs

Gone

52 years old, worked there 19 years (5 as a contractor, last 14 full time). In my TRAC area that I know of, everyone was over 40 with at least 10 years of experience.

Wow that 38 weeks of severance pay or 9.5 months Sometimes layoff is a blessing as you may find something you like better. I actually wanted a lay off. I am so burned out

50 with 28 years and a year pension. Lottery perhaps. It’s what you do with it.

Godspeed. Hope you find something really awesome. The 50s are a great decade, despite what anyone says.

Something tells me you're going to soar like an eagle. Keep your chin up.

Sorry to hear that. I've seen a few rounds of lay-offs in my area over the last decade, but the always tried to "trim the fat" or target middle management. This time it seems completely random, a lot of good and experienced people are now gone.

Hope you can find a new position quickly.
