Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel claims it has the power to put you directly on a concert stage or the middle of NFL action

Who the fck cares? More hype, fake news, lies and propaganda to try to check the stock price free fall.

Just like we cornered the $40M drone light show business.... while missing 10nm multi-billion investment. Too many distractions, next CEO needs to get back to basics, and possibly, split the company between design and manufacturing.

@roc words of wisdom... that's why Intel keeps failing on everything and keeps buying small companies only to resell them to 1/x they paid.

Innovation is everywhere else but inside any site.

@gwt - Ultimately it's a VR play, but the data access will take years to be realistic. It might be useful in the NFL for Replay Review, but that's about it - sports fans likes ACTION - not STOP ACTION.

This technology is crap. Adds nothing to the game.

ESPN has all the infrastructure to run 4K and they can't do it because no one can carry that amount of data!

I would love to see that after arriving home on my self driving vehicle... driven by? NVidia!!!

"Shooting just one minute of an NFL game, True View gathers 3TB (terabytes) of data. In just 15 minutes that works out to the data equivalent of all of the text in the Library of Congress.

We have 10 petrabytes of storage on premises [10,000 terabytes]," said Howard Wright, vice president of global business development for Intel Sports. Compiling that and letting users access it without delay will still take some time — and Intel won't say exactly how long. But the goal, said Wright, is to make it instantaneous.

Wonder why this previously shown technology wasn't present in the NFL or NBA playoffs? Ever try to download a TB? Anyone want to bet this gets axed with the new CEO?
