FCC Passes New Laws Against Slamming

This affects cellular carriers and home providers like Comcast. Coincidentally we pulled Wireless Account Analysis for plausible deniability. Now you have to really dig to scrub accounts. Apparently the FCC is reaching out to employees looking for whistle blowers. Basically if your managers are scrubbing accounts for opportunities they're basically in violation. If you as a rep are selling that way you're in violation unless you basically go to HR to cover yourself and tell them your manager makes you do it. It should really be managers policing it not to happen but they're the ones enforcing. This is probably why new compensation is based on phone boxes and strats are just sales dollars. So those of you that have slammers in your stores and you want an even playing field you should really start saving violations and reach out to the FCC.

@ GPU if you are truly being told to do unethical business practices you are within your rights to document and provide proof of said unethical business practices. Don't listen to 1bam...they are just trying to scare you.

Whenever a manager makes a “grey” request just feign confusion and request an email for clarification.

You've got to understand that @TAXfo23-3mdp is a dumb non-union troll trying to sound smart...what a surprise! (and he impersonates a VIP in the name he chooses to post under? Again, not too smart).

@3mdp, your proficiency in both reading and comprehension is questionable as well. Nothing the FCC declares is “law”. If the FCC passes anything, it falls into the realm of regulation.

OP is really good at google searching and reading headlines but not actually reading what the law entails. Must be a dumb union troll trying to scare folks...what a surprise!

The FCC does not possess the power to pass federal "law". That power lies with Congress and, in the case of an executive order, the president also has the ability to issue orders having the same weight a law passed by Congress.

What? Not using WAA? What channel are you in? Also, the new anti-cramming/slamming law says nothing about scrubbing accounts. #fakenews

@TAXfo23-gpu

Be extremely careful when it comes to recording interactions. There are federal wiretapping laws and several states are what are called "two-party" states, which means that secretly taping a conversations without consent can result in jail time, fines and have civil consequences. Research your state's laws before doing something that can backfire on you. Just looking out for you.

Thanks for the info. I have a feeling we will be told to slam TMP at the minimum. My managers have been making us sign people up for salesforce without their knowledge or consent. I’m going to start recording all office interactions and documenting. I’m tired of being told to do unethical things and my job threatened if I push back.
