Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Forced early retirement planned

Rumor has it that Citrix is planning to quietly offer incentive packages to encourage older workers to take early retirement. This will allow Citrix ELT to remove the dead wood in older locations like Fort Lauderdale so they can hire cheaper more energetic and virile younger workers. They calculated the cost of payouts to older workers will still be cheaper than the lower cost of recent graduate workers and reduce the health premiums to Citrix since it will reduce the average age of citrix employees.

Seems like something the dark evil dark minds of the Elliott Management overlords would come up with for the Citrix ELT to implement without question.

Many companies offer older workers an exit package and have them sign a non recourse agreement. Citrix could do this.

Another lame thread. Citrix isn't going to push out any particular age group because that would be a huge red flag fo ra massive law suit. I'm not concerned by the people who start these threads (trolls); what I am concerned by are the few individuals here who are Citrix employees but aren't smart enough to dispel fact from fiction here.

If this truly is the plan, getting rid of the remaining Innovex employees would be a great start. They have been at Citrix on average 15-20 years. Most are over 50 years old. They earn a CRAZY amount of money $$$. Today, their contributions are minimal because they don’t have the up-to-date skills set to compete with the new-new. They are surviving strictly on “Who they know, NOT what they know.”

@1co, how many of the Innovex crew are even left? Quite a few have left over the last few years.

Don't forget, the ELT is choosing how to execute. Getting rid of dead wood sounds good in theory but they will ultimately run out of room to protect the Innovex crew because they won't get rid of any of them

Somehow I think this might be a good idea to refresh the company with some new fresh ideas.

At least now the people that are praying for a package can step forward and leave the rest of us in peace.

Fort Lauderdale is full of dead wood and useless cretins. On the one hand, the Citrix ELT is actively destroying a once venerable company. Conversely, Fort Lauderdale has plenty of useless Citrites who could never get a better job elsewhere and any sensible company would get rid of them. The question is how the useless people survive the restructuring whilst competent and diligent people disappear?
