@SiMEcfa-dxzf Please do tell; where would that be nowadays? There is no job security now. Inept management, mergers, acquisitions, favoritism, nepotism, The Peter Principle ... something's going to get you regardless of how "skilled" and regardless of certifications du jour.
Why work for a company that has a constant threat of layoffs ?
Please take control of your destiny.
Teachers are unionizing, why aren’t we?
This company does not care about their employees.
I don't want to be specific on this around Anu Jain and the HR person so as not to identify but completely clueless people. Just drop the bomb, we know why you are calling, and don't act compassionate because it doesn't matter much.
Plus, clue to HR and execs, we have enough. We work because we like helping: this is not charity.
TD needs to be able to survive on their own. Their world is being rocked by tech and the mgmt. is clueless on how to fix a sales model that is based on NCR. Protect the old school execs because the rely on it. Fly around and get your miles. Martinis in diff cities, old boys acting like HS cads.
No payout on vacays. Take what you can. MS et al are going to eat their lunch. Any execs let go or is it Mad Men TD style?
It is not 1%. There is no way that a socially disconnected employee knows multiple folks hit. This was much bigger.
SiME.....You would be kidding if you are saying 600 + were scrutinized. So when is next round.
What was the package given?
The 618 number was how many were listed to be in hot seat. Out of that 59 were given the package. So if you can read the writing on the wall.
The ADEA disclosure shows 58 let go out of 618, that's 9.4%. Anu Jain and Farnell said orally and in emails it was 1%.
Math and honesty are tough for these boys.
In the Americas all hands on 3/14/2018, over and over fantastic and great were used to describe things. We all knew more layoffs were coming.
I don't see any disrespect here for Teradata. It's still best in class platform. Run by best in class engineering team.
The heat is on PS. Hard to justify what PS brings to table especially in the business consulting area. If product stops supporting the PS using internal $s I am sure PS will collaps in few cc
WOW. Total disrespect from a company that got way to many years. Take heed Teradata employees, if you are their, learn and go to the next company that offers you more $$. The new Teradata doesn't give a S#$T about loyalty. If you just got there or will be hire here soon, learn and get out. The leadership continues to add to their pockets, and HR here is a joke. The make policy changes not to support the employees in a fair way, but all for the bottom line.
Anyone know whats happening in Teradata Canada?
Speaking of Anu fing Jain, after a year he still has 20 direct reports, some are individual low level people some are managers with managers under. How long does it take to sort out an org.
It took him 6 months to change his linkedin to Teradata after he got hired.
Can anyone confirm 400? That’s more like 10% not 1%.
Partner let go today. 1% is horseshit. We heard from others. this is big and they are lying. Oh well, company going down sh--ter, has been for awhile. As a principal systems consultant myself, reputation counts so I will recommend other tech from now on.
We are fine because we have prepared. good luck to others.
Teradata PS is really not recognized for consulting and Organization structure we have in place really doesn't support the new way of project delivery. They messed up with Claraview and Think Big. PS still has old mindset within company there needs a big culture change.
Great Product but worst consulting capability...Just sell the PS and partner with SI. At lease the Product company will do good and help stock.
Take a look at some of the post by Anu Jain on LinkedIn - Fxxing under grad can write better than him. With RFI every six months everyone is becoming an individual contributor ! Who care if we build a team and or capability, Bill-Travel-Expense and then go home.
Layoffs were the heaviest in PS, lots of consultants and Client Directors.... Severance was ironically based on "Job Level" (considering the new leveling transformation). Very poor package provided, especially now that no vacation time is paid out.
No care or concern for the clients and no transition for those remaining who are now expected to do the work of the 400+ that are now gone.
yes just heard from a friend as they were laid off today. It is 1%. This is happening more often , appears to be every month.
Actually it will start Thursday. And go into Friday..... Some 400 + will let go.
Yes 1% of think big.
