Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Kmart has great prices

All the little snowflakes complain that Kmart is more expensive than competitors or that competitors have nicer stores. I guess this is the result of years of snowflakes. The snowflakes can't get a good deal at a discounter unless the environment is pleasing to the snowflake, the snowflake can't enter their phone number to pay $10 less than at Walmart and Target. The snowflake complains that the cost of consumer goods is going up, but the snowflake must not try to find the lowest price or shop anywhere not up to the snowflake's standards. The fact is that Kmart has much better pricing than other discounters, only snowflakes who aren't really interested in good deals complain. Kmart is a true discounter and the deals are amazing for those who aren't so precious that it hurts they little fingers to enter their phone number.

I know from personal experience that the prices quoted on Walmart.com for items in the store can be drastically different from the actual shelf price in store. For example, I saw a large power strip on Walmart.com for about $10.97 and it said available for pickup today at my local store. When I got to the store the shelf price was about $19.97. I complained and they gave me the online price. Since then I always order walmart stuff online and pick it up. Same thing with an Ink cartridge and Headlight bulbs I purchased. Big difference in price.

Kmart/Sears is more expensive. A simple price check on line at the prices will prove this to be true. Or better yet go on Amazon and look up any item and then do a price check. Use an app like Honey, or Price Checker.

I agree OP. Also don't understand the washroom obsession with these snowflakes. I avoid using any public restroom anywhere. Most of them aren't very pleasant. I also don't need to be pampered.

stop changing the subject, the issue is price and Kmart is cheaper. I have yet to see anyone give any proof of how Kmart is more expensive. That speaks volumes!!!

Snowflake here. You're right. I do want a clean, well lit store. I do want a bathroom that is clean and has toilet paper and soap. I do want to know that I am getting the best price, not a guessing game of what SYW, coupon, freecash I can use today and on what items. I do want to check within 5 minutes, not wait in line for 20 because the people in front of me have to answer 5 questions or the cashier can't figure out why the SYW points aren't working. I do want more than one cashier open when their are 15 people in line. And I do want someone around when I can't find something or I have a question.

I and others work hard for our money and we deserve a good shopping experience along with great customer service. I Kmart/Sears can give that or won't give that we will vote with our feet and shop somewhere else. And as the sales continue to decline I guess we are doing just that.

@SGm5SVx-dhc Dollar General has over 14,000 stores! I can't believe they are all like my area stores. Must be a local thing. @SGm5SVx-nal

Stock price doesn't mean the stores aren't filthy. They never clean the floors.

Catagory 5 Blizzard in effect, ESL. You just figured out the stores are doomed?

They were doomed as soon as "you" bought them. It was a real estate play from

the beginning. If anything is left, it will be the online business, which is what I was talking about.

SNOWFLAKE! See I can capitalize too.

If only so many people didn't have their own opinions, Kmart would still be doing great! Um, okay.

Millions and millions of people have SYW accounts. Entering phone numbers is not the reason they're not shopping at Kmart.

There isn't a k mart within 100 miles of me.

There was one in my hometown however I believe it closed. Adapt to the market or die, it's that simple.

I have purchased many things online from Kmart/Sears using the various shop your way

promotions recently and I still don't really understand how it all works. Lots of good deals

but very confusing!

@eka, that's true and that's an intellectually honest assessment. So many on here only seem interested in saying anything bad about the company, whether it's true or not. They seem to want to run moral down which is really sad for the people who do believe in the company, have pride in the work they do to make the company stronger, and who want to see it do better. I think the stores need some money, but that proper advertisement of how shop your way works and how their prices are better than other discounters would make the biggest impact. All the ads ever say is "freecash", they never give examples of how it works or give examples of what a product might cost using free cash. Just repeating free cash or surprise points over and over without the customer knowing what that actually means in real terms in relation to the items they are purchasing is meaningless. I do think that the assortment and stocking issues are getting better. Does anyone else see that the stores are being stocked better?

@bks - Why do I get the feeling that the OP's opinions are nothing but a snow job?

The prices for many items are at least competitive. But the shabby state of the stores is the reason people aren’t shopping, as well as the falling quality, gaps in the assortment, and stocking issues are the reasons sales are falling. Why don't we discuss that?
