Thread regarding DST Systems layoffs

No truth to it

As a training manager in Quincy, I can tell there is no truth to the fact that there will be...

Wait, what? You're taking my broom? How am I going to find another job? I don't have buddies at other companies. Wanna see my grades from college? It wasn't a good college but it was still A college -sort of. Pleeeeeeeasssssse!!!!

"The merits this year was 1.8% if everyone got the same amount. We do not need a raise each year. Millions of people in the work force do not receive a pay raise each year. Be thankful for what you have. We all need to stop being greedy. We need to learn to manage the money we get and not live paycheck to paycheck. If you do manage your money you will not have issues when issue come up in life."

Have you ever heard of inflation? If we did not receive wage increases (at a minimum of 3%) then every following year you would be making less and less. Managing money becomes much more difficult when the little that we do make is worth less and less as time goes on.

Simple. You want to live and get paid like a CEO? Then become a CEO. All this complaining about what the executive management makes is ridiculous.

Most of you are worker bees and should stop complaining about what the top level makes. You don't like your salary? Do something about it. Start your own business, get a better education. Or marry rich. But ffs, quit your b--chin.

No one at dst owes you anything.

"Employee at will"... That's what you all are.

Yeah try packing lunch ya big dummy! Stop buying coffee too.

I go out on the weekends and collects cans for the redemption money, then pack all my lunches for the week ahead! Only the big shots should live like big shots, leave it for them to be foolish. I've been taking ketchup and mayo packets from the cafeteria and squeezing them into the containers at home. My whole career I never had to buy ketchup or mayo, add that up over 20 years and get back to me.

Ever just try being grateful for having a job? Try it. Quit b--chin about what you don't have, what you didn't get and what someone else has. Maybe if you learned to manage your money better, you'd be happy with the salary you have. Seems most people live way above their means with huge mortgages, big car loans and fancy vacations. Try not spending for a while and save some money. If you're broke, it's your fault because you spend like you're a wanna be CEO.

Most merit raises in my work area were under 2% this year.

"Good Salary"?

Pfft.

When I left I basically gave myself the equivalent of 5 DST merit increases.

In one career move.

Get the heck out of DST, people.

Once one has successfully moved on to a better place after leaving a bad company, it is hard to imagine why everyone else puts up with it. But it is hard to replace a good salary and benefits, and whatever else one might say about DST, they offer those things. So can we all just offer others a little compassion, please? People are heartsick over this, even if some are not.
