Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

There absolutely were layoffs. I can say that for sure as I was one of them.

I knew of a layoff early only due to a fellow worker missing an important meeting. Calls and questioning (his phone was now off) finally revealed he was unavailable and this was very troubling. Later yesterday (3:30 pm) an email was issued mentioning "the difficult step of letting some of our team members go". I eventually located and spoke to him at home. Looking at the postings on this site I sincerely hope they are merely misguided attempts to calm employees not the result of an organized attempt to delay media coverage. In the industry we call this information mismanagement by the term "lie" and I shudder to think of it as a corporate policy.

What a bunch of dumb--ses on this site. There were layoffs yesterday, lots of them.

The reason it's not in the news is because Enbridge didn't disclose it to the press.

To the Calgary office guy. Everyone knows what’s gone down. Most of the company knew beforehand because of this board. If you’re a pigeon holed analyst then talk to anyone at another office location.

There were layoffs absolutely. We got an email from our vp. I know her email confirmed that there were layoffs including Richard who was a director. In addition I know of a person that got laid off who is a close friend... I wouldn't post her name here out of respect for her and why bother naming names for a bunch of trolls.

Ahh please check your facts. Enbridge Edmonton and Calgary made cuts today. SCM and LP Safety and Results Delivery Office were just a few that had losses.

Guy J sent out an email about today's layoffs?

Just because you did not hear of layoffs from the media does not mean there have been no layoffs. I can confirm there were layoffs today because someone I know was and I will not post his name other than to say he was from Calgary. If it was not in the media it means at least one of theses things:

1 These layoffs are not news worthy because layoffs happen daily and the number is not as much as Sears

2 Management did a good job keeping away from the media for their own reasons

For those who doubt, fire away those emails to whomever you want to confirm. The answer you may get is "we cannot confirm nor deny" it happened.

Layoffs happened today unless Guy J email was fake.

There are some kiss-a-- employees and managers who are trying to discredit this page and make it looks like it is just rumors page.

The truth is the information on this page are 1000% accurate and true.

Um, yes there were layoffs. I know because I’m one of them from Calgary

A director in the Houston office confirmed the layoffs but of course no specifics other than "to remain competitive". Yeah, thats one way to justify it. She also mentioned the last round left "people happy". That was the right word in mind of leadership.

tell us which department? I can say that I've met Al Monaco over lunch it doesn't mean that it's true (I haven't met Al Monaco for lunch).

• 4 employees in Duluth,

• 6 employees and 1 contractor in Superior.

That's just our department, there were many more.

The cuts were sprinkled throughout both countries, multiple groups etc.

There absolutely WERE layoffs today. One of my family members was laid off in Edmonton this morning.

Definitely layoffs today, is someone just being sarcastic. I know the ones in my area, so the fake news are the ones spouting no layoffs.

Media has always picked up the Layoffs the day of!! Usually by 5pm NEWS - This just means there has been no Layoffs today

i was laid off in 2015 and i have no knowledge about layoffs today. people will have to start sharing specifics, e.g., locations, departments, roles, etc. that use enbridge terminology in order for this thread to be reliable. for now, this is all rumors, very weak rumors (e.g., "i got laid off today" tells me nothing, it may be someone from the acme company who's posting here just for kicks)

Companies post jobs and lay off all the time - take a look at Walmart for example. They laid off 20,000 people in January but they have 11,000 jobs listed on Glassdoor.

There absolutely were layoffs today. Two in my area and I know of several others throughout the company, including Westheimer office. Plus an email from Yardley confirming layoffs was sent out late this afternoon.

OK. We got an email from our department vp that indeed there were layoffs today. Not sure who to trust now. Darn it...
