Thread regarding Altice USA (Cablevision) layoffs

What if Altice sells?

Say more shops vote a union in. What happens to those workers if Altice fails and sells to a company like Charter or Comcast? Just curious.

@Rs6xUFI-1uvq. I would never cross any line in fact I'm now with Verizon local 1106. And I know a few guys who left cable to go to Verizon and plenty of former spectrum guys there as well because they chose not to cross. Like I said there is life after cable.

To I-mwb, the successor clause is a dream. As ATS employees, we are essentially contractors, and a new company would be free to choose to use us, or go with a new contractor. My guess is they will choose the cheapest alternative. What do you think?

Layoffs have been taking place in the form, of voluntary retirement packages, buy out deals, for corporate execs, elimination of jobs call centers relocation and elimination of smaller depts Roc, Rcc,etc, that has been going on employees running to charter/spectrum it will keep going on until these guys go to jail or sell. Your just starting to feel the heat now.

It's ez for u young dumb mofos to say "go work for another company" but realistic is not that easy especially when you've dedicated so many years and are over the age of 40 and making over $30 an hour. Your chances of getting hired at that age making that kind of money are very slim. Pay cut, schedule conflict. Especially when you have a family with a mortgage, kids in college, young kids that need health benefits, etc. We have no choice but to stay and put up a fight. Easy to say when you're living in your parents house with no real responsibilities and just spending your money on stupid sh--.

You have whats called a " successor clause " in the contract. Meaning if the company was to change hands they have to take the employees with it.
