Heard from some AA insiders today that they'll be putting out an RFP....bye bye to Sabre. Domestic AS may be sold off or shut down if this happens.

Ironic. So years of Sabre pushing customers to web services 1 costs us more money for more infrastructure and 2 reduces customer Sabre vendor lock in so customers can more easily switch from Sabre to Amadeus.

The only way AA will leave Sabre is if Sabre tries to force AA from their precious Tpf Lniatas to web services. Once on web services it is easy to switch from Sabre ones to Amadeus ones.
AA doesn't use Google right now they use Sabre. The have the old US Airways QIK GUI over Sabre. Some still use native. I would not be surprised if they went to Amadeus.

AA left Sabre many years a go: When was the last sales to AA by Greg Gilchrist's team? When was the last consulting project to AA with Christopher Donnellon's team? When was the last research proposal with Ben Vinod's team to AA? Right, these were ages a go.
2 years then draindown and there you go with 1A to Amadeus...
10 yr proyect ? Lol, see a serious company can complete that proyect in 3 and go live in 2.
I think even today AA uses Google's ITA for booking and Sabre is used only for post booking and some things related to ancillaries.
I don't think even switching that post booking services will be that easier for any airlines, as these are long term decisions as @RcGJgyg-iyi says. If that happens Sabre probably will try to play nationalism card, pretty effective in Trump era.

There is no truth to this. Why spread ..
Where will they go.? Amadeus ? Amadeus can support them but cutting over to them will be 10 yr project in itself due to heavy AA customization in place .
