Is everyone applying for unemployment now or waiting until we receive our severance package? And if you are applying now, should we put down the address of our home store or the BN INC corporate address? Any ideas on the UC account #, Plant #, or contact person?
If waiting, what is your reason for waiting?
In TX, I can't apply until at least after next week, from my reading ... "Pay in lieu of Notice", iirc. Depends on how the severance is presented if TX workers will be eligible immediately after that or not.
I'm in PA and I looked at the application. It asks when was your "last day worked" and for most of us that was Sunday. It didn't ask anything about when was your last paycheck, severance, vacation payout or anything. So I'm not sure what to do.
I'm in NC and I am going to file this upcoming Monday as well since we are being paid through this week. We are officially unemployed as per the books starting next Monday. Severance should not hinder unemployment claims, however, if you are getting your vacation cashed out like me, then it might be different state to state. Vacation payout mat be considered income. Have to check for sure
In the state of Ohio you cannot file if you are still receiving a paycheck. Since I, assuming we, are still getting paid for hours this week, any unemployment filing i put in this week will cause my whole claim to be rendered ineligible. I plan on filing Monday morning since severance packages will not affect my eligibility. This is how I understood unemployment to work in my state.
