@3lsv Sounds like they need to set up call buttons in the appliance department. Something a customer can trigger to summon the appliance associates back from the other areas, e.g. by playing a recording over the loudspeaker system saying "Customer needs assistance in the appliance department". For that matter, Sears could use something like that in the rest of the store too.

Rad/ran- free labor for the company
So if an associate is way over in div 8 or 96.. how will they see a customer looking to buy a stove or fridge?

We have a few slackers at our store and it will be a rude awakening for them we can only hope!
For all the people that have been working over the years and doing what they are suppose to do then it will only be a little more work. For those who like to take 10 breaks during a shift or goof off all day then it will be a rude awakening.
Next weeks schedule should be interesting

I don’t see how this is going to work but maybe it will hold the ones that disappear on their shifts or are on their phones on the floor more accountable for why a particular task didn’t get done

Less people, more work, same pay and don't forget less hours.
More work and responsibility for less money.
Simple Store .= a plan devised by simpletons who never worked in retail.
Good Wills have back rooms that store merchandise. They don't put something out just because you dropped it off.
The Good Wills in my area are extremely organized. The look like a department store but have the donated goods. Same for my local Savers, although they may be for profit.
Key is that they go through the merchandise and only set out what the store can hold & still be functional by category.

Lol @ "like Goodwill". Most Goodwill stores are actually more organized than Simple Stores.
