Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Job leveling?

anyone know about this job leveling project that's underway? How will this impact employees? Good or bad? Seems like an opportunity for them to pay their people less money.

The job leveling is a cost cutting measure. If you are at the top of the pay scale, there's no merit increase, or job promotion. If you are at the bottom, then you get a small increase. The theory is that all employees are interchangeable.

There are four levels:

1.Executive

  1. VP

  2. Manager

  3. Pion

Most VPs have no familiarity with the product they manage. When the going gets tough, they move on.

If you have 15 min meeting put on your calander by your immediate Manager you should safely assume you are on the let go list.

Why would TB become its own company? Aren't we in the process of pulling us in as a main piece of the Teradata corporate brand? And what's WFO? More layoffs?

Q1 - will be worst in last 10. So brace yourself for bumpy ride. PS will die its own death. TB may become separate company.

We are less than 2 weeks away from our AIP payout and still haven’t had any discussions with our managers regarding the payout our merit increases.. managers are playing dumb like they have no idea what’s going on.. what gives?

Why is management so tight lipped on an individual's bonus payout? The lack of transparency means things can't be good for most of us. When are they going to tell employees what percentage they got or do we have to wait for our 3/16 paycheck and figure it out for ourselves?

Every change or "strategy" seems designed to piss off or alienate the maximum number of people possible.

C'mon. You've got to say more than that! So 3/16 is bonus payout AND salary adjustments?

No comments on this? Really? Someone must have some insight on this.. the company is very close lipped right now and no word on merit increases til Q2.. very disheartening.

That is true. if you are highly paid then you are put on this plan. Option is you take the leveling off it or you are out. It's all subjective. It's much profitable to replace a consultant with 1099. Plus PS Might get sold to make product BU more profitable.
