Just heard it started, and that it will be over in a few hours. Not a first hand information, though, so take it with a grain of salt. There are a lot of rumors about how many people are getting the boot this time, so anyone having more info - schedule, positions, number of people impacted, please post. Take care and good luck to all.

@sji good point - agree 100%
@fec until a strategic vision has been presented, what should we make of these layoffs? What loyalty do people owe a company that subjects its employees to this once a year? People should and will leave and it will ultimately be the death of Viacom: the inability to focus and retain talent.
Maybe the complainers are disappointed about that.
All of you people who are still working for Viacom and STILL bad-mouthing it - give your two-week notice tomorrow and just quit. You obviously hate the company and don't like working here.
You are not helping to make the company better during this difficult transition to digital. so please, Just quit - go somewhere else and be happy.
Or don't be happy, but just go.
hey @sed this is consistent with the rumors that have been around since last Thur. Please let us know if you learn more.
