Pre-bonus layoffs

Prediction - January huge layoffs... You were all promised a bonus in February? Everyone thinks that Sycamore is going to give these bonuses? Maybe to the executives. They don't have to give anyone a thing! What you will get is that "pink" slip without a severance package that some of us were lucky to get!

This is a huge worry of mine. I've read that it often happens that a company decides to have a layoff right before bonuses are paid out, to ensure additional savings. Motivate workers to give their all until the last day, and then show them the door without having to honor some of the obligations. Hopefully this will not happen, but something tells me it's a likely outcome.

So what you are saying is leadership took all their layouts and left the rest to work their asses off for nothing. Same “leadership” that tried to sell that shot oh what was, 30 by ‘20 and stock splits and prices north of 30 or 40/share - you mean all those who made all those “promises” took what they could and left? Why would anyone expect more from that paranoid, pathetic group of middle managers who rose to Power on the back of TS?

I left in 2014 after completing a full year of service, they cancelled the bonus and then paid a special cash award to people still there. This was PRE Sycamore just to give you an idea of how dirty the tricks were even then. They'll do whatever it takes.

I don't know if the healthcare can get much worse. I pay more than I need to now. This company is mostly downside at this point. I have been looking for another place of employment. Hopefully something will come through sooner rather than later. Corporate HQ is turning into a ghost town.

Realign them how? None of the individual companies can function on their own without them. If you sell off a company with them included the other 2 die. If you sell off a company without them then you need the new owners need to replace a huge chunk of G&A and expertise.

Canada could probably survive on their own since they have a most functions covered on their own.

This layoff affected folks in North American Delivery... the division actually making a profit. They did close 51 stores this month, though.

I am not sure of the bonuses but the severance packages are locked in for 1 year of the agreement with Sycamore. It is in the agreement that was signed for the buyout.
