I wrote my observations at my store on @Qp552Ue regarding the dismal Thursday. Looks like today isn't any better. It's 9AM and the store is empty. Web orders are bad, too. 16 since opening.

Our BF was actually worse than Thursday. My department did probably pretty damn good compared to the overall store.

Us too. Apparently we ended up acquiring at least a few from the new neighboring Gabe's store. lol Pretty much the same blue so they fit in well other than being weirdly taller.
Ours was supposedly pretty quiet until about 10am (the time I was scheduled...) and picked up a bit. Wouldn't say it was as busy as last year, but definitely the busiest I've seen in a while. Likewise for the web orders. Not sure how that has really turned out, but I know it has been far lower than last year when we were swamped with it; hundreds at opening. This year barely 100 in the same time frame. According to my manager our store was first in the district (is that the word?) last year and this year (at least as of Fri. morning) at the bottom. :( The hell?
It would be nice to use the "Line Out" feature on the SNC but unfortunately we have hardly any SNC's in our Sears store. Most of ours are broken and don't work. We got slammed with online orders for DieHard workboots. MPU was hauling flatbeds full of DieHard workboots off the floor to fill online orders.
@1bln. There was a super small ad for Kmart on the flip side of the Sears ad which is online.
My sears store in michigan had a slow start at 5 but got extremely busy
We had plenty of print ads but not enough shopping carts especially in the tool and
lawn and garden area because a lot of the big stuff is real heavy! Give them a cart and they will buy more
It was so busy I had to do the
“Line out” feature on the snc to make the line go faster since once they got to register they only had to give their phone number and register would bring up all their items to check out!
Pretty cool feature to have on the trusty palm pilot device
It was fun since it was the first time I ever did it and so simple to use
We had all 4 registers going in that area and customers were for the most part nice to deal with
Dayum. Our Kmart is down 60% in sales compared to last year. Why the drop? No print ad distributed in the area, none in the store, and none online... yep, that 45 page Thanksgiving/Black Friday ad never made it online, where corporate tells us to tell members to look ever since print ads were cut. Store management never even saw any part of the ad. No list of doorbusters other than the ones we assume are doorbusters, like the $2 flat bed pillows and $2 polyester felt throws.
