I call BS from HR. The below post sounds like something that would be written by HR from India. (paraphrasing) "I've been here for 35 years but I'm old and not up to speed....." "I'm overpaid and should be put out to pasture" "Young people have a bright future with the great company"

I did work the field for 35 years in Michigan, it WAS a great company and I'm very glad to be out. Retirement is fantastic if you can do it but none of my investments are in HPE stock.

I am working for HPE for almost 35 years now and will be made redundant, like many of my region colleagues, in December or January. It has been a great company to work for, with great colleagues and friends. Sure it is a bit bitter to get kicked out now, but the writing was on the wall for quite some time. HPE executes along their strategy and plans, and I am confident that it will work out well. Getting rid of the high paid baby boomer generation is the right thing to do, even though being a baby boomer myself. New skills are required and also a workforce with significant lower cost work. For the future the young energetic folks will have a great journey, but most should not expect to stay employed past 50 years of age.

Is this a troll post? I was a new graduate hire for HPE, so not an "old loser." When I first started, I really believed that the company would turn around and I was excited to be a part of it. However, in less in a year my team had four rounds of layoffs and seven people were let go, despite all the meetings congratulating us/others on how well our product was selling. People were let go right before Christmas. The last straw for me was when management decided to WFR one of our most productive team members. Being concerned for your future livelihood based on real evidence is not being pessimistic!

The OP has the right attitude. Most of the people that post in this forum are simply disgruntled frustrated ex-employees that can't get over the fact that they won't be part of the glorious future ahead for this Company.

Amazingly, the OP sounds like the typical passive-aggressive, backstabbing, do nothing no-it-all that makes up 75% of the HPE workforce now.

I read all of this post, and I have to believe it's a plant by HPE internal. It's from corporate though, because most of Human Resources uses English as a second language. I've been out for about a year now, WFR, happy times. Grab your stuff and get ready to go. Good Luck to All!

The only thing you will be is part of the swarms of maggots feasting on the long dead carcass of a great American enterprise. The market is going towards cloud, something that HPE has no f*cking clue how to handle, and away from proprietary servers and network equipment. Obviously, Cisco and the others have networking, which will still be needed for what's left of on-premise enterprise computing, leaving HPE with what...servers? Aruba?

HP's famed corporate culture has been thoroughly destroyed. Talent has been run off. The Machine is the biggest vaporware since Duke Nukem Forever. All that's left now is for the private equity and hedge funds to descend, WFR the remaining maggots, and strip the carcass of cash and IP and anything that's salvageable (Aruba).

In my career at HP I had the pleasure of hearing both Bill and Dave speak several times. Got to chat with Dave at an affair once. Great guys. I'm absolutely sure they are rolling around in their graves with the current state of HPE. We can't really blame Meg though. Carly was the one that killed the program that became the iPhone at apple, HP could have made all those billions but didn't. She also killed the machine (early incarnation) and the memristor. After that it was just the inevitable end game.

OMG ... this is the most ridiculous post here. HPE has fumbled big time with The Machine, Public Cloud, and I wont be surprised with memristor also. The end game for this company will be painful. We shall see a spinoff of HPE Storage consisting of 3PAR and Nimble, a spinoff of Aruba and Procurve networks, and the rest will sold out - HPE servers, PointNext, Simplivity, etc. HPE parts is more valuable than the whole. HPE IS DEAD unless you are with Storage or Networks.

The Company does not have a future and this is but a very pathetic attempt to sell bs. HPE will continue to sink and go thru the endless re-org, confusing customers and investors, and will be sold in pieces at the end. Or taken private.

Remember, the company is still run by the people who wasted $13B (plus other few billions here and there), and instead of jail time they got CEO job and GM job. At least HP Inc. got the better side of mgmt. and they are doing okay despite being the dark horse.

Anyone who think those kind of people will do something for HPE or it's employees is stupid beyond measure.

The OP and @yfl are perfect examples that demonstrate that Meg and her HR mercenaries already won the battle against this Company’s once-great culture and employees. That’s the kind of toxic culture they need in order to execute HPE Next. It’s all part of a strategy that is being perfectly executed.

I cannot speak for others, but I'm not at all bitter. Just sad for the company and co-workers that are still there and that I care about. If the OP has been in the technology business long enough, this is a pattern that many of us have seen before, and it seldom ends well.

I hope that HPE does pull off this change, the portfolio is the best it has been in a very long time, the question is one of execution and vision. Since I'm not exactly sure about the vision part, execution might be a bit uneven. Worse yet, customers are not keen on operating data centers any more, they can pivot from CAPEX to OPEX by simply going to the cloud. By doing so they can also have a security compliant IaaS or better yet - a PaaS. What is exactly HPE's vision that would make them relevant in that market? Software as Infrastructure (Synergy)? 5 years ago, if we had not bought Autotomy for $13B, we might have been able to roll out that product and ruled the hybrid cloud space. But...we get back to the vision thing again. I hope for the sake of the people that I have known and care about - that the company can pull it off, I know they are working harder than ever to try and make that a reality.

Nahhh... The OP is just in survival mode. I bet this AH showed her/his post to her/his Manager and a few peers to be seen and perceived as “the believer” and “the motivator” around. She/he is just brown-nosing. Keep in mind that it’s everyone against everyone. I wouldn’t be surprised if it has worked well for her/him in the past and have avoided several rounds of layoff already. That’s why she/he is so confident she/he will stay. This kind of person will do WHATEVER IT TAKES to leave her/his “competition” behind in order to survive. I bet this is the kind of person that wouldn’t hesitate reporting a SBC violation for anyone checking the local weather on their laptop for a microsecond. If you work with someone like that.... RUN!!

Doesn't have to be HR. I know some people who have REALLY dunked themselves in the kool-aid. Seeing their coworkers get laid off barely fazes them.

I don't wish for HPE to die and I hope they succeed somehow because there's still a LOT of good people that work there and I don't want to see them lose their jobs. While I haven't been WFR'd, I have moved on to a new and better job. Seeing people lost their jobs all around me was the writing on the wall for me to move on.

As for all the executives and the board that have systematically destroyed HP/HPE business, culture, and leadership, I hope they get vaporized and replaced because they literally wasted away billions of dollars in mismanagement and useless shopping sprees. Right now, the best these folks can do is provide lip service with business buzzwords to their customers and their employees hoping you drink what they have to say to keep the "hope" alive for as long as they can. "Redefining the market" takes true visionary leadership, with the people under them truly believing in that vision and staying focused to make that vision come true. You can't drive forward any vision when employees see benefits deteriorate, reorg after reorg, spinoff after spinoff, and worse, make employees fear job loss with no growth opportunities. Meg, Antonio, and the board are more politicians/businessmen/salesmen than they are visionary leaders.

"Believe the evidence of your senses" is generally good advice. Unless you are totally paranoid (believing that the whole world conspires against you, to lie to you), then you should, by extension, believe the senses (reported senses) of others around you. Otherwise, you court dangerous insanity!

The evidence of our collective senses is that HPE is slowly but surely biting the dust. "Forced distribution reviews", coupled with constant layoffs, has killed the last vestiges of teamwork. "Make my co-worker look bad, so that I can keep my job", remains the order of the day.

You are part of something big, if you chose to stay there... That is, HUGE herd of lemmings, plunging over the cliffs, adding a few dollars per duped employee-lemming, to the "Golden Parachute" of The Meggot!
