Layoff in Accenture is a reality. It is fine if the decision is due to the bad financial performance of the company or the bad performance of the employee, even after given with a warning. What happens on the ground is head count reduction in each level ranging from 5% at lower levels till 25% at Manager levels. and these numbers are to be strictly followed no matter what. Even if the resource is performing good or not, if they come under the % bracket, they should leave. The HR & leadership team will convince you that you are not worth it and has done nothing to the project and the company.
People are asked to resign forcefully with no option to continue. It is horrible in here now.
