Thread regarding Western Digital Corp. layoffs

Nepotism at its finest

I’ve been with Western Digital for quite a number of years and the road to any type of promotion is constantly undermined through nepotism and backstabbing.

There is no concept of teamwork since employee’s have “every man for himself” attitude. Management will ask for feedback which will not be taken into consideration unless it fits their spectrum.

Layoffs have sacrificed hard working employees to keep dead-weight highly paid management while a few executives post their extravagant vacations on social media sites.

This is definitely not a company that has its best interest in non-management employees.

WRONG!!!! so...so....SO WRONG. What? Every man for himself? Well, I don't know what group your working for, but my experience....working with engineering, manufacturing, test, memory,CTO....yeah I get around, there has YET to be one time where I get snubbed, or that those groups do not immediately respond with help when I ask. Sure there are resource issues, but I get that. This is one persons opinion, but personally I think this is one of the best places I've ever worked at. And I wouldn't mind being here another 10 or 20 years.

Serious question - is it really different at any other similar big company?

Apparently, not just management is being overly paid or at least spending like crazy. Have you taken a look at the parking lot lately. Plenty of low level employee driving fancy cars.
