@PzNuD8n-4ook I would have to say what makes taking time off is having to come back and spend time fixing all the mistakes caused by the workers in India.

I know many coworkers who are fed up with not only doing their job , but having to fix and work with the incompent people in India.

Yes, I agree with what you posted above and don't know why the management at State Street doesn't understand it. Not only is all of this globalization and displacement resulting in a depressed unmotivated workforce. It is also influencing the economy of Massachusetts and other locations where these layoffs are happening.

@PzNuD8n-bra I agree with you that it is very difficult to get time off. I know of managers who will go on vacation for a week and check-in to see how the operation is running. For anyone that works in a department where you can use your vacation time and not made to feel quilty, you are very fortunate. To the person who started this post, you must work in a department where the work that you perform isn't very relevant. If you work in global operations or a department that is influenced by the stock market, you always have tight, many time unrealistic deadlines. With all of the globalization and displacement it is more challenging for the remaining workforce to remain optimistic and be productive and efficient.

Any manager that discourages employees from taking off their paid vacation days any helping state street they are hurting it

I don’t buy into that rigid workplace mentality

If I am offered 3 weeks vacation I am taking my three weeks vacation!

It doesn’t make you any safer by not taking it

It doesn’t make your boss like you more

They don’t care about you they want you to be a robot
