Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

PTC job to be eliminated?

Do they really think all a PTC does is hire and train people. We do so much more then that. I'm a long term associate, over 25 years, and evidently will be losing my PTC job next year. I get that it's all about the mighty dollar but what about all of our long term associates that we are losing who work hard because they love their jobs. Sam's Walton is probably rolling over in his grave. Respect for the individual is going right out the door. I used to talk so highly about the company I work for but not anymore. And tryin to do the AES right now is a slap in the face.

nothing like patting yourselves on the back or anything. all the above are what is expected of the position. ptc in my building has a closed door to everyone except her buds and fav mgrs. very rarely will come to floor and work and thinks she is a manager. Go into mit if you don't want to loose your job or company make it salary like Walmart did yrs ago. We are all important to the in one form or another it's the company that has forgotten that,

I Agree I am a Ptc as well I know I do way more then just stay in the office and hire .if they call for help I'm there to help if I need to talk associates I'm there not too mention during the holidays I am in every other area but personnel And I don't mind I just don't agree with taking the Ptc away from the associates.... Sometimes the mgr want to fire or coach people when they shouldn't I am sure All Ptc have saved Walmart or Sams from some kind of lawsuit. Not to mention doing sch cuz the mgrs s--- and they don't do the or proof reading Evans because the mgr don't word stuff correctly . Most Ptc help the cm run the club and if the company does away with that position the good luck to all The cm most of them would fail with out the Ptc I am just being honest hope I don't offend anyone!!!!!

PqM4AFQ-cxb. you certainly think your job is more important than the others that will be eliminated but really it’s not. everyone thinks that about their own job. the APM mgr will be able to do what little will be left as each mgr will handle their own assocs which includes hiring training etc. granted that’s probably not going to work but in time that will be the norm. and you probably didn’t mean it the way it came across but we all think our jobs are or were important. those sitting around a conference table just don’t

It's will hurt so many associates if they eliminate the Ptc position. We help associates that aren't comfortable with computers put in a request off, check their schedules etc.. etc.. We help associates understand policies and if it wasn't for us these associates may be contacting upper level managment simply because they understand a policy wrong ! We help out clubs, our markets and the Ceo of the company by promoting changes in a positive way ! We have been the cheerleaders for the company for years !! I hope the ones who make this decision to possibly eliminate our positions see this or maybe even talk to some associates and realize the importance of our jobs!!

They only want none talent in the clubs! Look at your new MIT and managers there's no talent nothing but baby face wanna be somebody's. They wanna set there and talk down to the 25 plus year partners like they stupid. Please I'm old enough to be your mother. I know way more than you ever could. So sad to see all this happening to the long terms it's pathetic.

It's just sad that the "higher ups" don't remember where they came from. Take pride in your job? For what? To be used and discarded? AES? What a joke. I am a PTC that has taken my job seriously and have done it with extreme pride. I have spent my time being PTC, talking to associates who have had ups and downs with Sams, talking about core values and respect for the individual during orientation getting new associates excited to be a part of a wonderful company (joke).....encouraging other associates when they felt slighted or not a valued associate. It's much more than pushing papers, wayyyyy more! It's being the liaison between salaried and hourly. Being the reminding voice of policies to Management when they want to make hot headed decisions without taking into affect there are policies that protect the hourly associates. I have also seen management preach about policies but in the same breath, feel free to change them or make the rules up to suit them. It's such a joke. Without us, good luck! I personally know many PTC's in two different markets who are extraordinarily kind and until recently of the impending news, excited to go to work and took pride in their positions. The feeling Of working for a company that felt like a solid piece of the American dream and simply has dissapeared. Sam Walton, your values and beliefs have been replaced with robotic, uncaring, greed driven humans (humans? Ha!) The very idea that you want to use all of us hard working hourly associates to raise money for children in need and natural disasters is preposterous! What a smoke screen to hide behind charitable work while you plan our demise. I'm so disgusted that I am part of such a heartless company. Boy were we fooled.

January seems to be the dreaded month. With all the new software and outside sourcing there

is much less required. APM will take over. Audit and acct gone next recv and memb/marketing jewelry photo. Stockers and cashiers are left and watch cashiers diminish in favor of self check and the big push for scan n go. After 2 yrs the big focus on fresh will be less important . They can bring in all the Johns and Giselles they want but sam's is losing ground everyday. Soon more and more clubs will close down.
