Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

Heads up Micro Focus Bay Area (aka former HPE Staff) Massive Layoffs are in sight

Micro Focus wants a 70% profit margin and they plan to get it by putting products in maintenance mode and WFR-ing the people. While the official list of people isn't public, we were told in an all hands meeting of a couple products that are going in to maintenance mode and that the a few of the staff be reassigned (meaning the rest of us are on the list). My advise is to dust off your resume, and start looking for a new opportunity where your time and talents will be appreciated.

Nothing is listed on the CA WARN layoff report.

No information on how skinny the severance package will be.

What year was this posted. Fake news! So a few VP's and executives quit. We are still here at Moffett Towers.

My position was eliminated in Provo, UT office 3 days ago. I just heard that more were let go today. It seems they are spreading it out as to not appear to be doing one massive layoff. No bonus payouts last year...no merit increases haven't been seen for years. Plenty of reasons to leave on your own, or you can cross your fingers for a very measly severance.

Fyi, severance is a joke. 3 months severance total for 20 years of service as a senior developer

Earnings disappointment. That means more layoffs on the horizon.

To @PXqswuj-Crnt, The entire team both software developers and QA where notified? I see a trend it seems like all jobs in the USA will eventualy be gone because Micro Focus is an UK company and no longer the software belongs to a USA Company, so they can do what they want. They are not under any USA laws. :-(

Do you know if Sunnyvale Moffett Towers employees been affected?

Re: @PXqswuj-Awnl

WFR meeting/training for managers on 1-Dec was held. I imagine other locations besides Massachusetts will be impacted as well as other "high-cost" locations. Same model as HPE/HP

What's the size of the WFR in terms of people? What to the packages look like under Micro Focus? Same as HPE or smaller?

Anyone in R&D that are not located in a low cost location, your time at MF will be short-lived. MF will be following the same strategy as HP/HPE and moving those jobs to locations like India/Romania/etc.

I'm at MF ArcSight. Do you know when the layoffs are happening? Rumor is first or second week of November.

Arcsight has really fallen as a great product. The dirty secret is when it was owned by HP/HPE the engineers didn't have the budget, infrastructure and personnel to deploy it inside the company.

So HPE was selling it to customers but not eating their own dog food. Scam artists.

I figured Micro Focus HPE Software will be next. They already did the pre-lay off before the merge in June and July for ArcSight and other area. I do not know what software was sold to Micro Focus but I do know a few of them (ArcSight, Fortify, Cloud Service Automation, Mercury Acquistion Products, Autonomy) to name a few of what I know of. When you sell American made companies to a forieng company is not a good thing especially security companies and when Meg already gave the source code for ArcSight's Pentegon software to Russia, it is now vulnerable to Russian hackers. Good going Meg - that is treason and collusion as far as I am concerned. Good luck.

Thanks for the update. Next time provide some news on Target, Apple, and other companies not HPE that I don’t care about.

The inability to let go of the past and move forward, which is a huge problem at HPE, can be summarized by people still talking about DXC, Autonomy, and MF.
