The title "TA" used to mean someone with demonstrated and recognized technical achievement.

@keb Aicha actually did that?!? How did she not get insta-fired?
And some virgin (usually white competent male although there is some diversity in the sacrifice list) has to be sacrificed for the god of failed investments and projects, political correctness, growing incompetency and abused URMs
The idea of a technically competent TA died in iCDG when Aicha decided that it is more important to get a woman into that role than to get a competent person.
I am all for diversity, but that was a silly decision, especially since she ended up using her TA not as a TA but basically as a secretary, which is a stereotypical woman‘s job. So from a diversity perspective, it was even a step back.
But Aicha has never had any kind of sensitivity or empathy for diversity topics, so that is not surprising. I was once in a site meeting where she spotted the one black dude in the audience and asked „Hey, where are you from?“ as she assumed that a black guy just couldn’t be a local dude. That is borderline racist. So not surprising that her other personnel decisions would be rather questionable from a diversity perspective.
@gba - It has been going on a long time but really accelerated to unprecedented and ridiculous levels the past 4-5 years. You are right, the whole company is rotting from the inside out.
Jeez. I thought this only happened in IoTg? Glad to hear the whole company is rotting from the inside out.
Simple. It means they are brown noser, a$$ kisser #1 to that particular VP.
