the formula matches what i have been told. remember that you get 50% off the top to taxes. they also only pay 1/2 of remaining PTO because it is split vacation/sick time. nc labor laws are the worst for workers, so may be worse in raleigh.
Has any actually been told what their package is?

They also by law have to pay any unused PTO. All payments (except for VCIP) were paid within 2 weeks of signing the separation agreement.
In the big one of 2015 it was 6 weeks severance plus they paid COBRA for 2 months. They also did pay the VCIP at 100% automatically during the normal cycle. I know this for a fact because I was accidentally mailed a separation package with all the paperwork. Who knows what it will be this time around...
The package is about 9" when I'm happy.
So are the MBO payouts part of severance?
Crazy enough, I wasn't on MBO yet the following spring I received the non-MBO operating bonus for 2015.
That formula ((number of years * 2 + 6) weeks of salary in severance), would be a sweet deal.
I can make some real peace with $30k in a lump sum right about now. Then get re-hired when they see they need me. But then, I'll try to get paid as self-employed for $250 an hour.
