It's probably not a good idea to use Humana computers to do anything. Keep the equipment but use your own personal computers and devices for job searches and applications. Most people have personal devices these days so lessen the stress of being monitored and use your own stuff!! best of uck to all!
To clarify some of the statements and questions here. You are given 60 days notice of being laid off. During those 60 days nothing changes in terms of your employment ...you are still an associate, get paid, accumulate pto and all of that. After 60 days, the severance kicks in and you get 2 weeks pay for every year. The company can "release" you from your duties during the 60 day notice period which means you don't have to come to work. You are still an employee; they are just giving you time to look for another job. Take advantage if it. As I said before every minute you spend on here trashing Humana, is a minute someone else is using to look for a job and they may beat you to it. It's ok to be angry but be smart about it
"I wonder if this is part of a bigger plan to monitor the laid off staff for any reason to look for an excuse to terminate early w/o having to pay out severance." @P76bH7T-2qib Why are you trying to frighten people? This has not happened to anyone previously laid off. This isn't helping anyone.
People impacted in previous rounds were able to do the same. It is a courtesy and not an extra worry. I wouldn't read too much into it.
It allows for a focus on job hunt and reduces the amount by of member contact for those under such severe stress/worry financially.
And, when they record your calls, your screen actions are being recorded, too....that was a strange thing to see during a call review in verint....maybe it's just Humana trying to soften the blow and not a heinous motivated potential crime in the making? Many people reported they had that opportunity with the first round, and I haven't seen any postings that people haven't gotten their severance.
So...are you saying that they are letting you use Humana computers to search for jobs and create a resume and send emails? The same Humana hardware that is equipped with a tremendous amount of "Big Brother" software that monitors your key strokes and records your screens as you type? Are you kidding? A part of me wonders if there is a bigger purpose to that. You know, there is a team that monitors and audits calls, and there is even a team in the IT segment that all they do is monitor screens all day. I wonder if this is part of a bigger plan to monitor the laid off staff for any reason to look for an excuse to terminate early w/o having to pay out severance.
The October date is correct. We are released from making calls after fri and are told to focus instead on job hunt, which is a relief.
Why is Friday now the last day and not October 30 as they originally said?
What? I thought they were given 60 days severance and their last day is October 30th
Yup, Friday.
I heard their last day is Friday the 8th
|This is awful.
Beyond awful. I was part of the group impacted and I was thinking about you all down there in FL sharing the same fate. With this monster hurricane Irma pressing down with uncertainty while being in layoff limbo has to be especially brutal on the mind.
Stay safe down there everyone!
Maybe they want all of these members disenrolled first? To tie up loose ends with members.
This is awful.
