Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

Worst management team

Sad to read the heartfelt comments but I too left as I saw the incompetence of the management team doing more damage. Avaya was great, with great solutions, but they didn't move on when they needed to. They also led by the worst management team I have ever worked for so it's disheartening to hear of people going the extra mile for nothing YET the parasites at the top still collect their bonuses. I remember when Chambers just took a $1 when things were bad at Cisco - that was leadership NOT what we have today at Avaya.

I wish I could leave as well, @OmclZR6-6sxa, this has become nearly unbearable. I keep looking for alternatives, but it seems that the situation is similar everywhere. We'll see, I guess.

Its just as bad if not worse elsewhere. Tech as an employer is day by day becoming a risky place for a prolonged career. Just take a look at Cisco's layoff mesaage board. They have some of the same problems as we have (amplified though given the size). Laying off people every now and then is not a good sign.

The only good thing I see in Avaya right now are a few people (way down in the food chain) who are out there busting their asses.

All that being said, I just hope the people up top change after the exit. (which seems very likely, expect some good news on that front in the coming few days). Its not about the greed on show by them, but my main grouse is that they have let a culture of mediocrity thrive in Avaya. People who really want to work and make a difference and trying to change the system do not have any support from anywhere.

I just hope there is a new exec leadership team, one which rewards merit and talks common sense.
