Thread regarding VMware Inc. layoffs

July 2017 Layoff

Sounds like 50-100 people this time around. Anyone know which groups were impacted?

Anti-semeticism continues to rapidly grow as observed from recent hirings, firings and layoffs in most departments in Palo Alto.

Sambar is yummy. I love dosai with sambar. Too bad, quality will be poor like the new software it'll sell. It will be mixed in with "Prasadam".

Motto these days is, "when talent matters, everyone wins" -- which talent are they talking about?

Talent to be a brown-nosed yes-person to arrogant and condescending VPs is valued. Though only VP, cronies and Bengaluru-based contracting cos. win big with mucho $ contracts. Reports to Ethica of irregularities are simply flushed down the drain.

Sadly enough, top talent that contributed to VMware's success is leaving VMware. Why? Because it is fed up with petty feudalism and pervasive cronyism of incompetent directors and VPs.

Ragu, (not the sauce), and all his direct reports must be fired to save VMware.

Michael Dell, please bring Diane Greene back from Google. Or else your cash cow will be sickly before 7 years of prosperity

I'm already out of this sinking ship. I can't believe people who still hang around and get surprised by the coming chops. Dudes lose all basic survivals instincts and need reality give them big fat slap in their faces to wake up to just how bad this company has become since 2012

The comment was not racist -- it highlights religious discrimination across US @ MNCs by Hindu (not Hindustani) people, men & women, preferring other Hindu men and women (not Hindustani ethnicity) over others in hiring and firing decisions.

Such bias is illegal in EU, USA and India -- Although, I have witnessed as pretty common practice in India during my long stint as an expatriate in Mumbai and Bengaluru.

People from Hyderabad, Delhi and Kolkata were better in treating others.

It will take only 1 or 2 dedicated people, like the brave women who brought down Uber CEO and several VCs due s-xual harassment cases, to escalate awareness of this serious disease.

Corporate HR leadership @ MNCs is collectively and deliberately ignoring this problem for now. Betsy and Pat should be paying attention on behalf of all.

Qualified White, Black, EU citizens, Brits, Christian, Jewish, Arab, African, Asian, men, women, LGBTQ people are facing aggressive and illegal discrimination by many UPPER class Hindus (not Hindustani ethnicity) in positions of power -- main reason they now control 50-60% of upper management and high paying positions at MNCs.

Let's not be racist, I would say the us and Bulgarian teams try to save their ppl when select Indians. This is not true, Bangalore teams have got impacted too and many directors and senior directors have been laid off.

My US team members are warned about the lat off and are asked to retire and take retirement funds. Thatndoes not happen in Bangalore.

So loosing job is same for ppl globally let's not make it so racist.

Mostly non-Hindus impacted by Jan and July 2017 layoffs in PA and Atlanta. Saw this on Seagate thread. Very true at VMW too.

My previous group at VMW was taken over by Indians after 1st "Jain" director was hired. He hired several Jains in the same department. I did not realize until recently that people with name "Jain" practice the Jain religion.

"Indians discriminate against anyone who is not upper caste Hindu or Jain.

We are stupid to play fair and look for talent.

Indian managers find loopholes to reject talented non-Hindus. They stuff HR systems with Indian candidates mostly with poor skills but great fake resumes. "

Teams on the US East coast, Israel, Beijing, Sofia, PA, decimated. Several heads in UK cut.

Minimal impact in Bengaluru.

Many jobs moving to India, even though top execs are big, big, followers of Trump.

Indian executives ask their teams to hire contractors in India to save money for VMW, wink, wink. Consulting companies in India give great perks to hiring managers.

Many friends from Israel and Bay Area have been leaving VMW since they noticed a total Indian stranglehold on executive and other well paying positions.

It is only matter of time when current CEO is replaced by the top Indian formerly from SAP. SilverLake needs to maximize returns.
