Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Many more layoff to come in 2018

By end of Q1 2018, out of 165000 employees almost 125000 will be laid off.

Dxc management wants to run the show with only about 40k employees.

Don't wait till it knocks your door switch over ASAP

@7xmcz... the post was created a year ago so no need to get worked up. On the other hand, the poster did, indeed, not know what they were talking about (at least in terms of timescale, although the ultimate numbers will probably not be all that far out when all is said and done).

You do know the date is 2018 Oct, or the 4 Quarter of 2018. DXC is in FY 2019, so you don't know what the f--- your talking about

Revolving door. People get walked in and walked out, seemingly with no rhyme or reason. Exceptional work barely noticed, if at all. People do not matter here.

DXC = WORST COMPANY EVER. Worked there until laid off with no warning recently, after decaseswith GM-->EDS-->HP-->HPE-->DXC. Each company got progressively worse. No raises or bonuses in years. Health insurance costs increasing exponentially out of employees' pockets. Vacation eliminated. Everyone works in fear of layoffs. Hourly workers work without getting paid for overtime. Managers are afraid to support employees out of fear of getting fired by their managers. Managers working unreal hours and getting paid as hourly making a ton of money while their employees work for less than fast food chain hourly wages with no raises. Company in chaos. Environment of fear. Everyone trying to escape ASAP. They did me a big favor by laying me off (with a minimal compensation package, which has been hacked away at for years) as I immediately got a job doubling my DXC salary with better and much cheaper benefits. My fault for staying as long as I did, guess I just got comfortable with routine and slowly boiled like a lobster. Good riddance.

All you DXC'ers out there, GET OUT! I left recently and I have to say there is a great, wonderful life out there after DXC. Our competitors are clamoring to hire us. You will feel like you went to heaven when you realize how well you DESERVE to be treated. Who wants to stay on DXC death row? Not me. And certainly not you. You're much to valuable. Update your LinkedIn and get out. You will be so happy you did. Let Lawrie sink the ship all by himself! Good luck to all!!!

And guess what! It's now happening... Most of the real talent is now gone. Replaced with contractors who are 20 something and they like to cut corners.

After the merger with HP ES, DXC is now laying off people in India. With no plans and full of corruption in management all talented people are being laid and the employees who are corrupt are being retained. Worst company ever in IT history. I repent to stay with such a crap company

CSC was good in australia before buying UXC Oxygen, since then the company was going down down like Coles sales price marking Down Down. Any ways we are out of DXC Australia, DXC is not making any money in Australia since last few years. So no complaints as we got our redundancies in March 2018.

Mike Lawrie is the quintessential business idiot. His "cookie cutter" approach of strip and rebuild doesn't apply to every industry. I'll bet money he losses all of the Health Care accounts he so desperately wanted, within 5 years. It's abundantly obvious, being in the "trenches", that this guy has 100% absolutely no clue what he's bought. Our office can't get a replacement laptop for a down user in under two months, but this yokel is sending people out to investigate replacing whoever they can with robots? Really? The guy's an utter moron hell bent on destroying his own company with his own sheer stupidity.

I think the final headcount will be 40,000. But they will get to that number largely by spinning off USPS Secot to NewCo, not layoffs.

The HR departments in USA are such a bunch of lazy guys that it will take 1-2 years before a paper moves. It will take a while for DXC management to realize how sloppy the teams are. till then enjoy

I, as an EX-CSCer, have to scream from the rafters to anyone now working for DXC, get the hell outta there. It is a horrible place to work at now. Crap managers and no pay increases. Just a horrible place to have worked in the last 5 years. I took VR and am a better man for it. THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING NOW (Capitals intended!). I would rather be on the dole than to work for those idiots!

DXC is hiring a few more business HR candidates to hasten the layoff WFR process for the July -Aug-Sep quarter. Expect a tsunami of layoffs coming soon..

The target being that most US offices should be clear of any technical capability roles or support roles. Other admin staff should be reduced to bare minimum.

.. watch out and stay safe...

just heard... US technical staff making more than a threshold of 75K -80K per year will not be hotlisted /shortlisted for the next round. Make sure that you have real work so that you can be retained if you make over 80K per year. If not, start you job search early...

Middle management will continue to be demoted to individual contributor roles and the rest shown the door. Run before the job market is oversaturated and companys delay hiring for 2nd half of the year savings.

100% agree with this. They need only 40k EMPLOYEES to run the show.

To xtw, you are obviously not in the UK. The Internal support there has been completely destroyed and is now run out of India. I know I got canned in May

From what I have seen, customer facing roles have reduced (WFR'd) whereas internal support roles (teams supporting DXC internally) have neither been noticed nor touched. So internal support team members continue to do nothing and laugh at the tech staff seeing what they are going thru .. thats the truth in DXC ...

If "leadership" can live with their conscience with their decision on the massive recurrIng WFR, they should not be spending their time "stalking" this forum?! No wonder there is lack of strategy put in place to improve business growth. They sit around doing nothing!!!

Not only they are "stalking" but also trying to sabotage this forum. Did everyone notice the several OP (original post) have been deleted? Especially those threads giving advice to job seekers on comparison between this and AmxxxZxx company? Deception at its best!!

ML? Poppa Bear?? Is that you? Don't worry everyone is keeping their eyes out for other opportunities or happily awaiting a package (UK). Fear mongering is not necessary. Rumors are not helpful. State your source.

is this number not exagerated ? - when merger was announced analyst of Wall Street predicted between 55000 and 60000 job cuts. I would not mind for myself as I will immediately volunteer to leave if ever job cuts are in EU. Just the fact that in many EU countries do not have news about jobsloss yet - and unions are strong in EU , I really doubt that 125000 layoffs by Q1 2018 is even possible. 25000 by Q1 is what I heard (rumours) and sounds more then enough.

But Layoffs will continue - also after 2018

I am NOT a fan of DXC/CSC and I think they have perpetrated many horrors on employees and customers..... but that number seems implausible. Care to support it somehow?
