Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Sales numbers are awful so far this holiday weekend.

And I know it wasn't just my store. I looked at the Sales Flash app for various places around the country. The worst, by far, Memorial Day Saturday and Sunday in all my years at Sears now has me believing the doomsday prophets on here.

How can you complain about not making huge money over the weekend. Try working in HI dealing with handtool exchanges, lands end returns, member dotcom issues while there,s a guy who wants to purchase a professional zero turn tractor. You are over paid and underworked. Last year I made under 20,000 what was yours over 60,000!

@1qww, Congratulations!!!! I wish you all the best. I wish some of the fine sales people in my store would follow your lead. The good ones are wasting time at Sears. There is money to be made elsewhere.

I've worked at this same Sears for 7 years now and have watched the sales be destroyed in the last three years by a local JCPENNEY. My hours have been cut due to low sales, so I recently applied to Penney'S and just was offered a position in their new appliances department, so i'll be giving my notice today. Good luck to all remaining employees.

My store too. Terrible sales for the weekend. Sears has earned this though. No one at corporate or Eddie himself wanted to listen. They had been told what what was wrong if they wanted to keep customers sopping in the stores.

We have no ad in the local paper, all the pricing is wrong (we had over 500 new signs to print on Sunday), and our system went down for over three hours on Friday and a few hours on Saturday. No advertising, slow computers etc. Why would anyone shop at Sears or Kmart?

For several years I could count on making well over $1,000 in commissions for Saturday appliance sales on Memorial Day weekend. Just $300 this year with sagging consumer confidence in Sears, and the cuts in commission rates. Not a bad day, and worth showing up. But it is a sign of things to come.

Some of us on here do state facts about what's going on with this company. Some people may be naive to what's going on or don't want to believe what's happening.
