McKesson-ChangeHealthcare - June 2017 Layoffs

Anyone in the know about the upcoming June layoffs at McKesson-ChangeHealthcare? Same areas impacted in May or different areas? How big of a layoff? What time frame?

It is true. Layoffs did happen at the Jacksonville Florida location yesterday, Aug. 7th. McKesson/ Change Healthcare / PerSe.... Laid off almost 40 employees. Not in a very professional way either. They emailed us Fri ,, (really bad showmanship) telling us we are having a meeting on Mon. Different sections emailed out to different employees. Placed us all in one room and said you are no longer working here. Then went on about why, how. Then we were not even allowed to gather our own personal items. They had the management (of course kept their jobs) PACK OUR BELONGINGS UP IN BOXES AND HAD THEM SITTING AT THE MAIN DOOR! We felt like cattle being taken out tho the slaughter house. Very unprofessional. The management needs a lesson in human behavior and that we are not animal's and should not be treated as such. I think they let go of the wrong people. They need to reconsider the management that led the ruin of the company. Sending work to India so they can cover cost. But now we are gone and out of work. Nice job guys , I don't know how you sleep at night.

KOP (King of Prussia, PA) was mostly MHS at one time...I think majority at this location are still MHS. Some EIS folks also work on another floor, but majority of the building is now CHC.

OP may respond but King of Prussia is a good sized CHC/Mck/old Per-se site

Pardon my ignorance, which division is KOP?

Our building has had multiple visits from HR Labor Relations and Senior VP's...also interesting that our local leadership is making rounds to Jacksonville and Richmond without explanation.. I work for Pharma.

As we head into June, looking for insider information on layoffs. Numbers, products, timing. Anyone know anything?

Change HC IS McKesson! They transferred all the sad wanna be seniors over to lead it (to give them hope and reason to still be with such a despicably run company with horrible leaders who don't care about anyone but themselves, because they realize they need SOMEONE to clean up their mess when they retire (very soon) probably paying them wads) to save themselves. I feel bad these folks have sold their souls and time. Life is worth so much more than a paycheck people.

The topic of the thread is "McKesson-ChangeHealthcare - June 2017 Layoffs" that implies it's for everyone from both organizations perhaps the vindictive, mean spirited garbage would be better directed elsewhere- like several have said Change H is still 70% owned by Mck but if they (CHC) want to pull this off they need to insist on pay for performance from what is now their contractor/supporting agency (McKesson) and stop holding meetings claiming 15,000 employees when they have already lopped off a lot of the tree...

Agreed - EIS is still part of McKesson, while Change HC has its own site to share information and ideas. So those of you who don't want to hear EIS "whine" should re-direct your browser to the correct CHC site. Many of us still consider ourselves under the same basic company (EIS or McK Change) and, having worked together for decades in many cases, we care about what happens to the other guy/gal.

What I would say to the person who posted below about timing and the June bonuses - I believe that those who are eligible and were employed through March 31, 2017 will get that bonus regardless of the RIF date. I don't get one so I don't know for sure, but I am 99% certain those were the terms of their agreements. I hope that's the case - they earned it and should get it regardless of the RIF date. Best wishes to everyone this summer...

Alright, everybody. Let's not attack each other. I like using this McK site for McK-Chg because I think we are still controlled by the same sad principles and technically it is majority owned by McK until the IPO (good luck on that).

I find solace in communicating with other decent people that have been impacted by McK, regardless of what product, because we all understand how sad things are. Regardless of the new product/dept/company names or shuffling around, it is no "Change" at all. So all, speak away. Just lay off insulting each other. It is beneath all of us.

@9ccb You are on the money.

Come on, EIS is still part of McKesson, while change healthcare is not. Stop act like a baby. This is a site to exchange information. Do not be so pathetic.

OMG how long will it take for the paragon EIS people to figure out they don't contribute in any way to the McKesson Change Healthcare and are not involved- get out already...some people are actually looking for realistic information not your wi/hinefest

Not sure if this is an EIS problem or if it's corporate-wide, but the last poster is correct: off-shoring does a disservice to our customers. All of them. What the corporate 'leadership' doesn't realize is that news travels fast in this community. When McKesson software becomes total garbage, with zero real support, it makes informed customers think that everything else the company offers is too much of a risk. And they move on. It's an act of pathetic desperation to manipulate customers so that our KLAS scores improve. Had upper management actually invested 5+ years ago, there was a chance of actually competing with Cerner and Epic. Now we've become a laughing stock and a prime example of what not to do.

I would say that when the hospital brought Paragon, it had a fully staffed, well-trained reliable development, support and quality assurance staff on shore. Since April 1, 2017, this staff because of really bad management of the product has been cut down to the bare bones. They say they are only in maintenance mode but due to the lack of the experience of the off shore teams, I doubt very much if they can handle even the slightest maintenance. Very sad to see this happen.

What really needs to be realized is the lack of development and support of all the different products under the McKesson umbrella. Though some products work ok- like those where not much is technology related, there are many that need proper development, maintenance, and support. Since these layoffs have scaled back to just skeleton crews, and most of these folks lack any true expertise or knowledge, patients and hospital will soon feel the negative impacts. First, I myself, would never check into a hospital knowing it uses McKesson and Paragon as its HIS. I assume the hospital is trying to cut corners buying cheap and unreliable products. Just my thoughts but I've seen this in action personally. How could one rely on McKesson products knowing money is its only concern?

Mid-June or late June? You can bet on early June so they can save the mid-June bonus $$$. Bank on it.

They won't touch med surg. That's a growing business and they need sales as is. You're safe for now.

Haven't heard voluntary rif. Very doubtful. They have history of rid without volunteers as does Emdeon. Why would they change now? (No pun intended)

Any truth that McK-Chg might also look for RIF volunteers in the summer time frame? If so, will this offer be communicated globally or only offered to a select group?

Sources say around September/October you will see more cuts across the board. In parts of organizations that are lean...less so. Payer products to be hit hard in summer layoffs.

When are the rumored larger layoffs going to happen?

by

Post ID: @3jqo+NbC6t52

June will be focused on previously known as Emdeon employees and about 50 additional layoffs across MHS (payer facing products.) Haven't heard much else about additional layoffs in MHS, Relayhealth, which was hit hard. Imagine more director level trimming.

Albert Einstein said that insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result.

When will McKesson learn from their layoff shenanigans? Your healthcare software is a disaster b/c you did not listen to your AMERICAN workers. Instead, you hired Indians that began the whole mess. And, you hired incompetent managers that did not question your horrendous decisions.

When will the people working for McKesson learn that McKesson management is hostile toward American workers? Just look at all the comments posted about McKesson layoffs, and their software decision making principles. This management team should be ashamed to even list their position as a manager on their own resume. If I was a hiring manager, and learned the potential candidate was a manager at McKesson,..... I would throw the resume in the trash, just where all of you belong!

Labour relations, onshore resources. Isn't it interesting how corporations come up with fancy words to dehumanize the people who have worked for years at the company?
