Thread regarding State Street Corp. layoffs

STATE STREET AND SNOW STORMS

I remember how well the Senior exec treated the critical workers in my area who had to

come to work during snowstorms and blizzards

Giving us a gift of a State Street T shirt or Coffee mug or some other insulting item

If you had to spend 2+ days at a motel you got a T shirt and Coffee mug

As a critical worker who had to be onsite you were told to come in no matter what the weather crisis

@D: @MiE5gFY-lfc I agree that anyone demanding that you travel in almost deadly conditions is unrealistic and dangerous. As a former employee of State Street, I recall many times when I traveled to work waiting for a train for anywhere from 1 1/2 to 2 hours. It is surprising that many of us didn't end up with frostbite !

Thankfully, all/most of employees no longer have to travel and can work from home in blizzard conditions.

Yes

That would be an acknowledgment that you are valued and therefore not a disposable cog

Would it really hurt SST to maybe give a small $50 to $100 to the brave people who risk their

lives having to come into work during a serious raging snow storm.

I driven in snow before, but when you have high winds and white out conditions and all I get is a mug and T shirt.

The critical people must to onsite to do hands on work on all the Computer equipment.

Check cables, power devices up and down.

It's very nice to be able to work from home. I am grateful that is allowed.

My electric bill goes up but it's better than suffering on road or rail or motel.

Five years ago My boss told me he didn't care how late I got in just get in. so am I expected to stand outside at the train station which isn't a station but at best an awning in sub zero weather with blizzard conditions?

Uh no that's not only inhuman but really deadly.

At least you got a mug, I nearly got frostbite.

I like the SS mug that Management gave me for going above and beyond the call of duty by going in during the worse storms ever while at the same time risking my life and neglecting my family. Yes I like that mug indeed....
